The U.S. just deployed a weapon that was supposed to stay classified for another decade

๐จ๐จ๐จ THE US JUST DEPLOYED "SOFT KILL" ELECTRONIC WARFARE IN IRAN → NO BULLETS, NO BOMBS, TOTAL DESTRUCTION ๐จ๐จ๐จ
America just revealed a capability most people didn't know existed.… pic.twitter.com/BIxXpA991j
I'm gonna be alright of course - my tinfoil helmet will reflect the eeeevil mind rays! And I will laugh as all you retards die hideously after mocking and deriding my superior intellect!!! HAR HAR HAR!!!

Seriously... this one has me fuzzbared. I dunno what to make of it. I have been trying to shore up my technical background on ham radios and to do that I have had to deep dive into foundational physics to truly understand what in hell is going on. It's one thing to manipulate numbers and rattle them off on a computer or calculator and trust everything to black boxes but to truly understand what's going on, I personally have to be able to visualize it. This rapidly becomes a can of friken worms. Fact is my command of higher mathematics has degraded over time too. Take the following with some very LARGE grains of salt. I am out of my depth.
Weapons like these are theoretically possible. The problems - as I understand them - are wave propagation and dissipation. It’s going to take a shit ton of power and waste heat to project the waves, and any fog, dust, tree cover, buildings - are going to attenuate them. To compromise them you don’t have to block them…you can merely deflect them. (That’s basically what the early F-111stealth fighter plane did - it was basically a flying triangle. Radar bounced off them but never back at the emitter and receiver - much like a bullet ricochet).
So. Is this the new terror weapon coming from the same deranged minds that produced the deadly and largely fictitious Ukranian Seeking Autonomous Crapcopters?
From a theoretical standpoint these weapons are possible. Practically…? Uggghhhh. When they black bagged Maduro out of Venezuela - they got him in his own country, in his own fortress, surrounded by his own heavily armed squaddies. They reported symptoms similar to those that such weapons produced. The Deltas made a very, very rare public appearance. You never see those guys unless they want you too. They got in, and got out - without a single casualty. WITH two prisoners. I’m sorry, those guys may be good… but that good…? It’s well known that they play with tech that won’t be seen by the general public for decades.
I don’t see any (theoretical) reason these weapons couldn’t be turned on this new breed of cheap fixed wing drones either. Those actually have a chance of seriously changing the battle space, and a counter to them has to be a top priority for the R&D eggheads. Could this be it?
100 years ago my grandad was a 16 year old in the trenches in Fwance and facing a new Satan spawned weapon called the machine gun. One of his closest friends was killed by it. When he finally got back home, squaddies with eye and lung injuries from poison gas were a dime a dozen. No one had ever seen weapons like that before. This lethal game of one-upmanship continues apace.
The world is changing. At the moment…I think these weapons may finally exist.
So I guess the war will be over in the next 24hrs and everything will be super duper! I think the ultra secret 'weapon' they used to snatch Mad Maduro from the clutches of his highly trained and loyal guards was an shit load of cash and promises of nirvana!
ReplyDeleteChutes Magoo
Actually, a tin foil hat might be what’s required
ReplyDeleteChutes beat me to it. Seems the super dooper "weapons" only worked on Madro's military as the some 30 Cuban security folks all had to be killed.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Delta Casualties, they are a need-to-know unit, and I doubt they have EVER announced in my memory that a Delta Team member ever got wounded or killed in action.
It's nothing new for the CIA to bring in suitcases of 100 dollar bills to ensure that the military stays in their barracks as we do stuff.
Amazing we can watch Movies with awesome special effects and NEVER WONDER if Disney is making body snatch movies for the US Military.
Well that’s the kicker, isn’t it? We can’t believe anything we see or hear. On certain things we can’t fact check it either. The operation has fallen right off the radar.
DeleteYou may well be right, Michael. We’re going to have to watch and see if these weapons make an appearance again.
You all are on to Venezuela; I thought bullshit about the energy weapon mentioned in reports and that the locals were bought off. I am no expert, but 2 things seem odd with JWK's IQ 289 post. Please enlighten me if I am in error. 1) EMP's. Aren't nuclear detonations the only practical way to generate one strong enough to overload electronics? 2) Directed Energy. Remember Reagan and the "Star Wars" Laser? The U.S Space Force? Or any of the reports for the last 40 years about such weapons? The rail gun? I do remember from high school Physics that energy decreases by the square of the distance and this has always been a stumbling block for such weapons. Please let me know. My poor IQ of 125 can't compete with 289 (haha).
ReplyDeleteP.S. Glen's pointing out the energy required, wave propagation and dissipation are dead on.
ReplyDeleteSounds like this would only be useful against civilians at demonstrations like during the recent kung-flu. There were plenty of reports and photos of them being used from APC type vehicles against genuinely peaceful demonstrators here in Oz at the time. If they are that powerful, they should be really easy for professionals to detect. Measure vs countermeasure - a professional would surely send the equivalent of a radiation seeking thing-a-me-bob back to the source.
ReplyDeleteI saw something on TV years back about using some type of microwave transmission for crowd control. Basically it just made people feel very uncomfortable but not 100% incapacitated. It was a giant antenna thing mounted on back of a gooseneck trailer pulled by a semi. Not something you'd fit in a helicopter. It looked great for crowd control as it basically just caused people to want to run away. Too bad we never actually used it during BLM. And as for area affect, I think the practical range was way less than 100 yds, more like 30 or 40 at best.
ReplyDeleteNot related but it looks like Gab adopted its former format. (M-on Gab)
ReplyDeleteTwenty odd years ago they were talking about a EMP cruise missile that would destroy electronics in its pathways.

ReplyDeleteThey built a drone killer with parts from a microwave. Cool!
