Are any a youse guys ex-squaddies….?

What’s in your load out? Assuming a 24 hour excursion…? Assume this is all you have to work with, sub-zero temps…?

  1. Your sub zero or mine? There's a fair old list but it would all fit in there. Sumbitch would weigh enough that I'd want shoulder straps for it though... I've one very similar that lives in my truck from Sept through April.

  2. My packs are loaded per my the task. The mission was not specified, so I will assume general hunting/outdoor getaway. Since it’s Sub-Zero, I will assume I am wearing my cold weather gear.

    Spare wool socks
    Foot power
    Hand crank+solar radio/flashlight
    Baofeng 10w ham radio
    Hand held solar charger/battery bank (50000 ha)
    6 in 1 charging cable
    Spare flashlight W/extra set of rechargeable batteries (this matches the light I carry for parts and battery compatibility)
    3 Mylar emergency blankets
    Travel sleeping bag (or Gortex outer shell from military winter sleeping bag)
    100’ 5/32 Paracord
    Poncho
    3 MRE’s broken down
    Mess kit w/6 fuel tabs (1 small box)
    Water purification tablets
    Spare lighter
    3oz lighter fluid
    5 1 gal ziplock bags
    5 1 quart zip lock bags
    4 garbage bags
    Toilet paper
    Toothbrush and paste

    All for less than 10lbs.

    1 IFAK
    2 Ammo, very small cleaning kit
    3 Water/ canteens/cup
    4 Face cam and scarf
    5 Fire kit
    6 Two high cal freeze dried meals and small spoon
    7 Small tin of sundries, xtra batts for thermal, gum, magnifier, water purify tabs and hexamine
    8 Map and compass
    There is enough room to stuff in the clothing that I start out with, dressing for the condish expected
    I can move very fast with this kit once I cache my main ruck which contains the kitchen sink!

    Can you guys have suppressors up there? If you can put a can on that rifle, man it’s a whole new world!! I had it in 7.62x39 and that changed everything.
    Id need a heated jacket and pants for sure! 😂😂😂

  9. Beef jerky, bottle of water, bottle of Jack, a few nudie mags, fig newtons, some TP, basically covers all my needs in Texas. I'm never had to deal with sub-zero weather. Also, we hunt from blinds, with nice comfy chairs and space heaters. The truck is a 5 minute walk away too. Sometimes I just forget the boots and go in my slippers.
