Dinosaurs Walk The Earth

I cannot see this working against peer level enemy. Hell… possibly even some of their vassals or proxies. The big ships and landing vehicles are going to be sitting ducks for modern smart munitions… and how many beaches are suitable as landing sites for behemoths like the M1 tank…?

Gawd, I hope I’m wrong, and that the idiots that lead us don’t commit the kids to an assault like this. I remember General Aesop foolishly proclaiming that the Russians would be driven out of the Kraine in 6 weeks because their equipment was garbage, their high command were drunken thugs, and American super weapons would drop Russians like flies on the battlefield.

I’m no expert… but a I think this kind of thinking really needs to go the way of the buffalo and the dinosaurs. This is an excellent way to get swabbies and Marines killed in very large numbers…

  1. I'm with you, Glen. Those things are slow moving, noisy, and probably not heavily armored. Leave it to our geniuses to fight World War Two in the twenty first century.
I have a nephew in the Marines (Major) stationed in Okinawa and tasked with keeping those evil Chinese at bay. I hope he can get his twenty in before the festivities kick off but it doesn't look likely.
Those landing craft look vulnerable to everything from shoulder fired rockets and RPGs to heavier ground and air based munitions.

  4. I wonder how the high bloatation, jet turbofan powered landing craft will perform after receiving few 20 or 30mm hits. They won't survive a rocket or missile hit. How many potential enemies have 'Camp Pendleton' beaches, not too steep.
