One of your first lines of defense as a critical thinker is to always put your emotions in check. Speaking from experience, this gets harder to do as you age. But - you have to look at everything today, note how it looks, and then wonder if that is the way it actually is.
B is not watching the rebirth of fascism in the ICE raids. He is looking at men and women, pushed to their limits and beyond as they confront criminals that range from petty thugs all the way up to serial rapists and murderers. Things get spicy when you deal with a clientele like that. Their enablers and protectors - primarily the militant left - are similarly a motley collection of morons, street people, college incels, and paid rioters. If you deal with people like that, day in, day out…mistakes will be made. Innocents will be hurt. There will be human error, incompetence and perfidy in ICE just as it is everywhere else.
Bah. Arguing with stupid old people is always a waste of time. When did our old timers become so retarded? It used to be that age and wisdom were almost synonymous… but nowadays the world is filled with elderly, clueless, chattering skulls that have to be ignored. When I look at my elders… the truly smart ones that are still on the ball…are largely silent.

ReplyDeleteUntil the latter part of the 20th century, life was pretty dangerous. You either knew better than to do something stupid, or you learned the hard way. The boomers have been shielded from any meaningful consequences for their idiocy for their entire lives, and this is the result.

If we let the cops break the law when they think they need to (or, in this case, the one I specifically pointed out, when not even enforcing the law) in order to enforce it, then we get cops that can use unreasonable and illegal force against the rest of us whenever they feel like it they feel like it....which is what happened in Weimar Germany and in Russia and lots of other places. It looks like they even do it in Canada and you fools let them get away with it.

In America we don't need a permit to protest, unlike Candia. Nor can failure to disperse be a lawful order unless there is a reason (and there wasn't). There were no lawful orders given.
