I’ve got two vices on the bench down in the Reclusium. I bought one 100 years ago - a little 4” job that does everything I want. I inherited a Chinesium monster from work that the guys said was inferior and couldn’t hold the work properly. I use it to hold my reloading press and it seems to work just fine for that. I’d love to have a vintage American made press made with superior steel and craftsmanship… but beggars can’t be choosers…
I picked up a pair of usa made ones back in 2001, one was 1950's and weights a ton, the other is ww2 military surplus and is my primary vise.
