Ughhh… I am sucking swamp water this morn! Up here in Canada there weren’t ever too many Arasaka rifles around. I’ve read that they are actually good rifles and fun to shoot if you can find or make ammo for them. 7.7mm Jap? I’ve never seen ammo for them either… I dunno about that Llggkkkgakmunn either… I HAVE seen one or two of those… but that was a long time ago… and I think I missed the boat on that too!
How are your skills this morn? Can you get them all without googling…?

ReplyDeleteThat is my read too. I have a couple of the arisakas in 6.5, I need to get them out and shoot the dust off of them. Steinel ammo has a lot of obscure military calibers available not cheap as it was in the past but available and noncorrosive.

They’d definitely be worth reloading for… being able to make your own ammo can be a boon for collectors dealing with obsolete and obscure calibres…
DeleteTop four Arisakas. Then a Mauser K98k, a Mauser G43, a MG42, Stg44, the pistol is the Walther P38, and the carpet could do with a clean.
ReplyDeleteThe Ljungman AJ42 has a funky sliding top cover with a wire case deflector and two knobs, and eats 6.5x55 Swedish.

Top 4 are Jap, the a K98 sniper. The semi isn't a Llungmann, it's a G43. Buddy of mine used to have a couple. The rest are easy.

ReplyDeleteThe Arisaka's seem to be in order of pre-war, early war and the 4th one late WW2 emergency builds. Caliber could be 6.5 to 7.7 Jap.
