I dunno if modern washers connect to the innernet or not… but everything else does. I seriously wonder if this old washer design could be resurrected? Given the way modern washers calve and die in 36 months or less… something that could to be counted on to work when ya turn it on would sell like hotcakes I’d think.
My 25 year old Maytag finally had the bun. Every 6 or 7 years there was a bearing that had to be replaced like clockwork… and then it was good for another 6 or 7 years. They don’t make the bearing anymore. The wife is a bit of an expert on those through work… and she can’t source them either. We now hang our clothes to dry in the basement just like they did in the 60s when I as a kid… and I dunno about the wife but it doesn’t bother me at all. If I remember I’ll put up a clothes line in the yard next summer.
