Look at the objective on that scope above. That’s a high magnification scope in high mounted rings. Also note the elaborate shooting rest.
I briefly considered getting involved with precision shooting but we only have a couple ranges in Alberta that go out far enough and none of them are near me. Plus, a precision rifle is a money pit. Typically they start at around $8000.00 and go up. Add in the high end tripods, the spotting scopes, $ka-ching$, $ka-ching$, $ka-ching$…
I dunno if that pic is from the Charlie Kirk assassination, or just more crap in the shower of chit coming out from the usual sources. Note the sniper appears to be using some kind of rest too.
Supposedly, THIS is the assassin’s gun:
Obviously one or both of these pics is bogus.
And - I’m still having problems with the hit itself. Pardon the crudity… but… uggghhh - we saw a neat, round exit wound. A .30-06 should have torn his throat right out. Things get “chunky” when metal like that hits meat.
But… I suppose we have to wait for more info… or the memory hole shoes its work on this sordid affair.

That picture is so pixellated no details can be made. What looks like a shooting rest to you looks like the sling and the guy's lower leg and foot extended a little. A .30-06 Mauser can be had online for $1300 (and yesterday I found where one had sold at auction for $200 unless it didn't meet a reserve).
ReplyDeleteYup. It’s like a Rorschach test where they show you ink blots. One or both of these pics is almost certainly bogus.
DeleteFor some reason, the 1st image of a person on the roof has feelings of a LEO overwatch position, not an assassin. But I may be mistaken.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for the Left to Call for 'Sniper Rifles' to be outlawed.
They already tried that here in Canada about 20 years ago….
DeleteI shot a deer with a .308 and I can say things didn't get chunky. There was a small 0.30 inch hole going in and a slightly larger 0.50 inch hole coming out. Of course I had some match grade FMJ ammo rather than hunting rounds cause I was an idiot, but that's the result.
ReplyDeletePerhaps. But even so… you look at the Kennedy assassination where he gets hit - and he gets thrown violently just from the momentum transfer. Charlie just kinda slumped…. Of course I could be full of beans. I’m just speculating…
DeleteBullets are funny like that. I hand loaded a 308 Winchester, with soft points and shot a Mississippi, white tail deer broadside about 40 yards. That round went clean through the rib cage and exited the other side as if you had pushed it through with a wooden dowel. If the shooter had used full metal jacket rounds, you very well may have had a clean through the neck at a hundred fifty yards. May God rest his soul and forgive me for speculating.
DeleteSkinny white 19 year old white kid named Tyler Robinson.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an overwatch from the Trump rally awhile ago where he was shot. No way you get all that gear up there, then back out without someone seeing. And, it's a bit much. That (supposed) rifle they found would be more than able. I've only seen one dude, an ex marine, say he'd need to see a google map of the place to give any opinion. FWIW, for all the Kennedy assassination gibbering, few have seen the kill zone. I live here and visited the book depository. The first thing that'll hit you is that it was an unremarkable shot, maybe 100 feet. One that an old obscure rifle could easily do. The area is tiny.
ReplyDeleteA kid named Tyler Robinson has been apprehended for the shooting. Apparently he confessed to the deed to to his father. The cops were called while dad held the kid down. Good for dad! Family loyalty only goes so far, and it's FAR below going down as an accomplice to murder for a lunatic shitlib son!
ReplyDeletepro hit. no way the pro ran across campus with that perfectly servicable but rather conspicuous relic.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is concentrating on the point of impact and what skills or gear would be needed. We don't know the point of aim. At that punk's age, I could do a head shot at 200 yds with iron sights just like many others could.
ReplyDeleteJust read that there was some "Discord server" chat with at least one other person concerning the disposal of the rifle.
