In health news… I finally found a new doctor. My last doctor was a write off. He was a Covid hack/huckster, his wait times were insane and on my last visit I got up to an hour in the waiting room and just got up and left. They tried to charge me $60.00 for a “no show” and I told them to take their fee and shove it.
I kinda/sorta replaced him with a walk in clinic. Being Canada though… the medical community here is incredibly diverse and culturally enriched. The doctors and nurses struggle with English, the waiting room is always packed, but wait times were on the order of 20~30 minutes. I still hate doctor’s offices, waiting rooms and the 3rd World vibe so I’ve been looking around.
Yesterday I found an old white Canadian doctor. The nurse was chatty and friendly and spoke English better than I do. The friend that got me in tells me you book an appointment, you go in, ya see the doctor. Sometimes ya gotta wait…but usually not long. It sounds too good to be true. Getting an old school family doctor these days is really tough.
The other day I heard that Hollywood retard - Jim Carry - bragging up “Canada’s superior health system!!!” He was saying that if only you stupid Americans socialized your healthcare… it would be perfect just like ours.
Just to put that in perspective though: our elderly leftist politicos that brag and boast about Canada’s healthcare system - whenever they get sick? They beetle off down to the lower 48 for their healthcare. Gassy Jack Layton did it, Jean Poutine Cretin did it…they all do. I’ll bet the tab for those posh private clinics end up on the taxpayer’s tab too! Grrrrrrr…..
For now at least, diversity has been eliminated from another facet of my life - and that’s a GOOD thing.

ReplyDeleteMy white (South African) doc retired a couple of years ago. Replaced by a 50ish Nigerian woman whose accent made her all but impossible to understand, especially exacerbated by her insisting on wearing a mask (said she had a cold). I found a Nurse Practitioner (35ish lady, middle east descent but raised in Canada), who never rushes me and actually listens. She can do everything my former doc could (referrals, prescriptions, etc.) in addition to primary care. I asked someone who is training to be a NP why the health system is so keen on NP's and she said it's because the College of Physicians and Surgeons wants to do away with GP's and all future docs to be "specialists".
