I guess Tiny’s hemmming and hawwwing about a potential new pocket pistol, among other things. Hrrrrmmmmm.
I guess he likes it…? If I’m not mistaken JL shoots a full size variant and likes it. They must be “turds of a feather”!!! HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR!!! 😂👍
Maybe I am just envious, bitter and twisted because I couldn’t shoot mine for shit. Size wise, my 59 was a compact a tad larger than the one in the pic and had a bobbed hammer and a fairly decent trigger. It was the first center fire pistol I ever owned. Back then St. Cooper was still alive, IPSC was the game of the day and I traded mine off on a 1911 - and never looked back. But I don’t run n’ gun, I don’t carry for social work…I’m just a gun club duffer. I punch paper and plink at cans occasionally…so serious guns are out of my wheelhouse. But…ughhh. I sure like those little PPKs. From what I’ve heard the are rude little guns to shoot.
I suppose I’d probly just get a little shithouse 9mm plastic fantastic… but it would be nice to carry something with more character.
LOL.
ReplyDelete'Forced to like it' would be a better description. The 5946 is a larger (DAO) version of this particular pocket blastet, but still manages to be prohibited in Canada due to barrel length.
I dunno...it's not a total piece of shit. It's accurate and well balanced. But it's heavy and the magazine disconnect feature is a terrible idea. Not sure if BCE's piece has that particular feature.
If I had the option, I'd rock my sig sauer any day of the week.
My brother, California Dave, has a PPK. I've shot it, and it whacks your hand a good one. I've got a FEG PA-63 in 9X18 (.380 on steroids) double action automatic with an extra magazine in the glove compartment of my car. My choice for concealed carry is a Ruger LCP II in .380 in a Sticky Holster.
ReplyDeleteThe PPK is a good choice for concealed carry, especially if you can shoot it. I'm marginal, but at ten feet or less I'll put the entire magazine in the meat.

Glock 30s with Hickock 45. I love mine.

Until AB yells the fed ball lickers to pound sand no one can invest in a new hand gun.

I have a PPK/s in 22lr that I love. but I wouldn't carry it,
ReplyDeletepicked up a used Sig 230 for that, a little snappy depending on the ammo used. nice carry gun though.
I ended up with a plethora of Bass Pro gift cards, and they have a very nifty little .38 snub on display. Not that I don't already have one, but hey, 2 is 1 and 1 is none, so getting a second snubbie makes sense. You want something with character? There you go.
ReplyDeleteI've crossed into some kind of geezer condition. I don't really want or lust for a new handgun, except a veteran, Belgian, Browning Hi Power, but not enough to buy one (800-1200 used, in Tennessee).
ReplyDeleteI'll stick to my boring, 34 year old, match grade (by chance) G19, with a Scandium/titanium, 342 Smith, snubby (an eye, ear, nose and throat gun) as back up.
I'm happy with my officers model. I'd be happier open carrying a blackhawk, but I'm back in Assachusetts
ReplyDeleteI've carried a Star PD in .45ACP for over 40 years. Now long out of production, I worried if (when ?) it finally broke, I would be able to get parts for it. So I bought a Glock 30 which is about the same size but doubles the magazine capacity. Ugly but functional. I still carry the Star but practice with the G30.
