Jeez I wonder how much that cost…?
I think Poli was experimenting with slugs awhile ago and had even managed to make that odd roll crimp that slug shells need. I dunno if he got anywhere with it - I’ll have to ask. It’s one of those things where ya think it would be a piece of cake to do, but in real life it is a bit of a PITA. Any a youse guys doing it?
My thing is that the shotgun seasons around here also permit muzzle loaders and were I tempted, that’s the way I’d go. I used to have a Rem 870 that you could swap barrels on faster than you can think about it…but I gave it away to one of the kids at church. If I still had it I might attack the project out of pure spite and orneriness. Dammitandblast - it SHOULD be easy to reload these things…
😡
I started reloading shotgun shells when I was fourteen years old, under dads supervision of course. If one didn't crimp right I would drip wax over the opening to keep the shot in. D
ReplyDeleteI've seen a doohicky that chucks up in a drill to spin those roll crimps down. Don't remember what they're called or who made 'em, but you may be able to find something on the Goolag.
ReplyDeleteYep, roll crimp in the drill press.
