Stubfart Boat RAGE šŸ˜‚

The Stubfart-O-Sphere is up in arms about this. Itā€™s the outrage de jour I guess?

I sold my little fishinā€™ boat because of crap like this. Alberta fisheries are pretty much a write off. Most of our fishing lakes are overcrowded and the stupidity that goes on out on the water boggles me. I had to keep my eye out for the big inboards because half of the drivers were corked. Or they were kids that were corked or high. I almost got run over a couple times. Ya find a small corner of the lake to drop a lineā€¦ and some asshole on a watercraft comes ripping through and the fish scoot.

The boat launches were rage centres. Youā€™d get noobs and beginners trying to launch and retrieve the big boats without any skills and people would flip out waiting for them to get their poop in a groupā€¦ but nobody would offer to help them. I was lucky, Iā€™d drive up right beside the launch, out of the way - and open the valves on my little zodiac pontoon boat. Pump it down, fold it upā€¦ and I was out of there. I had lunatics out on the boats shouting and swearing at me saying that I couldnā€™t do thatā€¦ but why? I was out of their way, I wasnā€™t impeding anyone at the launchā€¦ but a lot of them seemed to think I was obligated to wait in line with the big boats that needed to be towed out of the water. I finally just got sick of it and sold the boat.

This guy here was either on something, or had gone off his meds, and if he had done that to me - Iā€™d have given him a few strokes with the fish bonker for his trouble. I donā€™t see any controversy here. The trespasser has since been arrested.

Thatā€™s one arsehole out there downā€¦ and so many more to goā€¦

  2. The boat launches in Miami were the WORST. I'm backing down the ramp with my 22ft Bayliner Sunbridge, a 7500lb boat, and a guy with two jetskis cuts me off, AS I'M BACKING DOWN THE RAMP. He yells at me "This is the city. You gotta be fast!" OK, so he launches his kiddie cars and heads back up to park his truck. I back down the ramp JUST ENOUGH to be sure my boat won't hit bottom doing a "rapid launch." I grab the tagline and kick the winch. The boat FLIES off the trailer and bears down on the tied-off jetskis at the speed of sound. The owner sees what's happening and SCREAMS down the finger dock to untie his putt-putts to get them out of the path of my fast-approaching, almost 4-ton boat. He starts cussing me out, and I reply "Hey. It's the CITY. You GOTTA BE FAST!" This was the DAILY REALITY of the boat launch ramps in Miami. Hell; that was the daily reality of MIAMI! ...I hated that place...

  3. This is the now-infamous Brock Horner incident. Speaking only for myself, I'd never put out without a firearm of some sort. Anything in stainless steel is good. Now, if Brock pulled anything like that with me, I'd ignore him, then warn him to stay away as I'm armed and will shoot if he tries to ram my boat with his, or board my boat without my permission.

When he fails to desist his cacophonous insults and threats, then decides to board - he'll end up as fish food.

I think he may have been off his meds, or more likely, high on the old Bolivian marching powder.

  5. Around here people use dip nets to dip for shrimp at night off of bridges. If you like to argue with men (and women) go shrimping. You don't even need a boat to argue!

  6. Mad Jack, even in Florida it is a VERY BAD idea to tell someone that you are armed and will shoot them. It gives the PoPo (especially in Blue areas, like Miami) a reason to arrest YOU, not the Florida Man jerk.

Instead, when he jumps on your boat pull your heater and tell him to jump back off. Also radio a Mayday saying that your boat has been boarded and that an assault is in progress. I'd expect the water police/sheriff/Coast Guard to be there toute suite. In Florida you have the right to use deadly force to prevent a forcible felony, and the bad guy in this was committing multiple ones.

  7. One of three reasons I got rid of my 18' Marlin boat, idiots like that on the water, worse than idiots on the road.
