Humpday Pud

Of course…

  1. We used to scour the roadside ditches for beer bottles ($0.02), and the occasional pop bottle ($0.05), and haul our grubby stash to the local corner market 1.5 miles from home. We'd spend as much time as we wanted to parse out our change at the candy counter. Yes, that bubble gum featured large in the enterprise.

  2. Yep, I remember it well. We used to collect the wrappers and then send them off to get prizes. I got a camera once. It wasn't much of a camera, but it worked!

    1. Yep I was saving up my gum wrappers for that but my big brother beat me up and took them all and then he beat me to the camera…😞

I might forgive him for it one day… but nah… I’m STILL pretty hacked off with him because of it…😂

  4. I remember when I was in the 2nd grade collecting coke bottles for quarters to put in the gas station condom machines. Good times!

    1. Ribbed texture for her pleasure! 😊👍

I remember the odd time when I had enough money to get a pack of smokes from the machine down at the hockey arena. That was livin’!

    2. Back in my youth you put a quarter in the cig machine, pulled the knob and you got a pack of Lucky Strike with 2 pennies taped to the side.
