Well we just got back from Dawg Patrol out at Centennial Park. They closed down one of the ball diamonds for the winter and it’s for off-leash dawg use. It’s fenced off so the mutts can’t escape and they are kept in while they play. Today Hannah wrestled a big poodle named Oakley and got covered in dawg spittle and snow.
The big poodles are much better than the tiny, yappy ankle biters. Oakley ran Hannah into the dirt but they both had a good time. The big bruiser let Hannah play with his ball and win a few tussles. Ya can’t see it in the pic but her fur is all matted and gross. She died from exhaustion after the romp so that’s good.
Down in the Reclusium I’m finishing up my target loads with the .243. My current practice loads are with the 105 gr. Nosler RDF BTHP’s… but I found an unopened box of Hornady match BTHP’s and figured I’d have some fun with reduced target loads. (I dunno why…I just want to try them!) All over OyTube the gun tards argue over all the 6mm chamberings. There’s the 243, 243 Ackley Improved, 6mm Creedmore, 6mm Dasher, 6mmBR…It’s getting stupid out there for calibres. Some are literally ballistic copies of each other… I just want a gun that’ll do deer and varmints and do half decently on the range while being easy on the shoulder. I’ll do the standard 243, thanks. If I need something bigger, faster or hotter I’ll just drag out a bigger rifle.
Some of us old farts who have subjected themselves to a lifetime of self abuse are losing their vision. I am going to either have to kick my second favorite vice, get glasses, or ask you politely to increase your font size. I keep losing my glasses so...
ReplyDeleteOf course they got along. Poodles were hunting retrievers like the Labs.
