Something is rotten east of Aaaaaaadmontin, Alberta - besides me, I mean! As some of you have posited - I have been in jail on and off for the last little while. I get caught on vagrancy, public indecency and urinating in public parks, and frightening the women and children with my erratic eccentric behaviour. But I just escape and get out again and go back to being a public nuisance. It drives the RCMP nuts because they bust me, I get thrown in the slam… and the prison guards let me out because they don’t want to put up with my bullshit either!!! HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR!
😂👍
It’s about mid spring here in Alberta. The lakes and sloughs are still iced over, but the ice is thoroughly rotten and untrustworthy. On warm days there is open water. We’re getting a heat wave right now. Yesterday I went out on dawg patrol in my shirt sleeves. It’s glorious, but I’m not putting the winter gear away or breaking out my shorts or sandals just yet. My daughter’s birthday is April 24. It could be balmy spring weather, or a howling snow storm depending on the year.
I’m watching the aftermath of the train wreck over at Tiny’s. He started talking about some of the deceit and manipulation DC was up to… and I just shut my big fat gob. My daughter did the same thing, pitting family members against each other. No two cases are ever the same, but what gets me is the sheer hate and malevolence involved. Maybe I’m just an old fart grumping at the world… but… I think something horrible has happened to our womenfolk. 50 years ago they didn’t do shit like this… at least not with the frequency and severity they do today…? And it’s spreading to the men too. “Death by runaway social experiment” seems to be a serious malady these days. Maybe you want to call it something else like demonic possession? Works for me - your mileage will vary, I guess.
I was tinkering with the idea a precision .22 and looking at all the aftermarket drop in mods for the Ruger 10/22. I found one in my plunder that I was considering for such a project 30 years ago… but I never got round to it. I was talking it over with my buddy who also has an old 10/22… and now he’s ordering custom stocks, carbon wrapped barrels, a custom stock, trigger groups. I think we had more fun arguing and squabbling over which options to go with - than we’ll ever get out of actually shooting them. The Ruger 10/22 has more farkles and sparkles than the AR15 and they’re twice as easy to install! If you’re looking for a great father n’ son project… hot rodding a .22 rifle might be worth considering.
So…things’re gonna be busy round here for the next li’l while. The snow is gone and my backyard is full a dog sheeit. I gotta pick all that up and rake it. I opened up the shed for the first time in 6 months…and my big red motorcycle fired up happily on the first crank. I gotta get new skins for him this year for sure. Haven’t gone for a ride yet… there’s still a little ice and tons of gravel and sand on the roads. I have a bunch of dental work to catch up on. I’ve gotta get out and do some camping and fishin’ too.
I hope you all are keeping up with your chores… and I appreciate ya taking the time out to stop by.
Cheers,
Filthie
Ruger 10/22's were one of many truly good & fun things taken away from Aussies back in 1996. Enjoy them while you've got them lads. I always wanted a stainless 10/22 - a couple of the lads I was on nodding acquaintance with at my local range had one. I'll have to emigrate to own one.
ReplyDeleteYep. They want all the guns here in Canada too. Fuck ‘em - they can go pound sand.
Delete"... something horrible has happened to our womenfolk. 50 years ago they didn’t do shit like this… at least not with the frequency and severity they do today…?"
ReplyDeleteEither that or we just didn't get to hear about it. The whole thing REEKS of sulphur to me Glen. People didn't air all of their dirty laundry in public. I dunno about Tiny anymore. He used to tell great stories but a lot of his issues are own-goals and many of his commenters are starting to point it out. I rarely visit his blog now - there's more drama & bad juju than I can cope with - and that stuff rubs off.
From experience, the average woman's behaviour has changed markedly for the worst. NAWALT etc etc, but I suspect that women have a biologically-driven side that we didn't get to see publicly. Now it's out in the open and actually celebrated. 80% of single women are "dating" the same top 5% men yet can't find a "good man" any more?
Growing up in the 70's - 80's, exactly one family in my entire high school was divorced. We all knew who it was and they were pitied, and actually looked down upon somewhat. The dad was allegedly a violent alcoholic. Now, it seems most kids are in proud single "parent" households - code for single mother "families". And it's publicly celebrated. We have OnlyFools, Instagram, and all sorts of depravity normalised. Have you looked at a music video of female musicians aimed at young girls lately? Holy smokes - it's literally outright pornographic and the girls are being indoctrinated with it - and have no father to correct their behaviour.
I'm old enough that I pretty much don't care. Unless you are a person friend or a blood relative, I'm looking after my back yard, and wish the stronk-women a very happy future.
I wanted to do the same, A. Laugh at the rage headed lesbians, crack rude jokes about the lard assed feminists, make fun of the denizens of clown world. As long as me and mine could cope… I was good.
DeleteBut then female drama was dragged into my family. The men either sat on their hands or cucked along with it…and our formerly strong family collapsed. You may not worry about war and drama… but those things are VERY interested in you!
I suppose i shouldn’t talk of such things either. I was able to leave it behind, and now I’m an old fart too… with better things on his mind…
Mr Todd I’ve been thinking about my 10/22 , been shooting it a bit more lately cause I have the bergara bolt gun sighted in with 22 shorts, for rat killin in the chicken coops! Fun times! Well it’s the first time I really noticed how bad the trigger is on the 10/22! I’ve never been a trigger snob until my stubfart self went from a decent, bergara trigger that I didn’t ever realize, to the 10/22 ! Man it’s awful! So my buddy has a volquartson trigger drop in at his gun store, and I believe that’s gonna take me down the 10/22 rabbit hole. If I go down the hole I’m gonna have to get a threaded barrel also, and for sure a new stock, …………. They are definitely more fun to shoot than almost any other rifle for me even without the trigger and no suppressor but with??? Well I reckon here we go! Thanks Mr Filthie
ReplyDeleteTWO victims now!!! Here’s to many more! 😊👍
DeleteY’know, guys? Aboot Tiny… he’s a good shit. He’s a working slob like all of us. For all his size… yeah. Sometimes life gets too big for him (and I’ve seen pics of him going offhand with a Ma Deuce). We’ve all been in that shitter with psycho women.
DeleteAnd I totally get that “dog-returning-to-it’s-vomit” thing too. I’ve seriously thought about it over the years myself but I got lucky - or unlucky, depending on how ya look at it. With the women in my family… I ran them back across the bridge - and then burned it to the ground. Then I nuked it from orbit just to make sure neither they nor I would ever cross it again. There are still times I deeply regret that. But … like many of you, I can’t handle drama. I spent too much time immersed in it I guess? I never wanted to get sucked into it again, or the clown world it runs in.
Sometimes trauma and drama and experience brings clarity and objectivity in their wake. Let’s be frank - all female misbehaviour is our fault. WE let them do it and we enable it. WE protect them from the consequences of their actions. Were it not for that… a LOT of women quickly acquire critical thinking skills when the consequences of being stupid and selfish are lethal.Darwin, Murphy and the devil get the rest.
It’s all about the risk and reward and rolling the dice. His odds are about even if I understand him correctly, and maybe even in his favour. His profit to loss potential is good… very little to lose, a LOT to gain.
For my two bits I’m feeling optimistic. I know right now I can’t put my own family back together… but I’d love to see him and his missus patch things up and move on.
Great comments anon 1:34. I grew up in the 60's and 70's. A life- long friend of mine recently commented on the divorce topic, she could also remember only one family that had a divorce and this was in a high school of 1000.
ReplyDeleteAs for Tiny, I stopped reading a while ago. I stumbled upon the latest GFM for him and read the backstory. Life is all about choices. Apparently his choices are entertaining to a lot of people, who I suspect in real life, not the internet world, would have nothing to do with him.
Missed you!! Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteAbout our women folk status, I got an awesome redhead, September will be our 1st date anniversary. We were both going through 1st marriage separations, thought we were going gonna have a throw away fling. Three years later, I proposed, we got married, we've withstood the minor and major trials and tribulations of living through So. Cal, together from late '76, till 1/15. 11 years in Tennessee, BETTER!
ReplyDeleteWe have experienced NO shortage of psycho females in that time (1/15) and a few sketchy men.
When it comes to 10/22's, they are fun, fun, fun, useful, dive in, you'll have no regerts. In 2004 I bought a $300 Magnum Research (I think) carbon fiber wrapped barrel and a $250+ Volquartsen trigger assy for my $125, 1966 10/22. I've had about 4 stocks on it and as many flea market, yard sale 4x used scopes. It still shoots better than me. If I had plenty bucks, the only upgrade I'd do is a scope and mounts.
I have a zero to 130 yard range, 35 yards from my front door. The 550 yard range is at the bottom of my hill, 200 yards away. No neighbors to be bothered by.
Tennessee is pretty great, except for ticks and the occasional tornado that comes within a few miles. Also, it's a Constitutional carry, machine gun, suppressor state.
I gave up on Tiny pretty quick. I don't remember how I first saw his blog, but definitely enjoyed his military and conspiracy write-ups. The drama, not so much. In fact, too much drama and I quickly stopped reading his stuff. I personally think a lot of drama is self-induced and the only cure is complete separation. It's difficult when that involves family and especially difficult when it involves young children. But I've been there with my wife and I can say that separation was the only answer regarding her family. But some people are just drawn to it, like a dog eating it's own vomit.
ReplyDeleteAs for in the past? I think a lot of stuff was simply kept quiet behind closed doors. Men were better able to keep the woman quiet, and women were more in tune with not making a scene. Public shaming helped keep that stuff hidden. I had several older relatives with complete shit-storm lives that you'd never know about if you only knew them from work or church.
My own wife has a penchant for making friends with high-drama individuals and then getting sucked in. I've spent way too much time in our marriage trying to pull her back out again. Again, like a dog eating vomit, some people just are drawn to the high drama crap. I could easily live like a hermit, completely alone, if anything happened to my wife. Zero drama, 100% peace.
I have a 10/22i bought in 1975. About a dozen years ago, I bought a Lilja barrel. I then realize the trigger needed to go so I bought a Kidd Kid trigger and that makes a ton of difference. Then after a few years, I Bought a used Kidd rifle for a reasonable price and that is also a great shooter so that's one way to go, but I don't shoot them enough.
