Y’know we saw this once before. About ten or fifteen years back, every geriatric gas bag church preacher looked at the pews filled with single mothers and the absence of fathers. They put 2 and 2 together, came up with 5… and started fiery speeches about how shameful young Christian men need to grow the hell up, wife these girls up and take responsibility for their families. And they were flabbergasted and horrified when most of those young men stood up, turned on their heels and walked out. Most of them never came back either.
I wonder what they thought of the empty chairs that suddenly appeared? And the sporadic single young mothers that kept trickling in, seeking some kind of redemption for themselves and their failed families?
This is what happens when everyone talks, and nobody listens.
