I got the Shingrix vax shortly after it was available. At the time I dd not understand what vaccines had turned into. If I could pull that vaccine out of my arm I would do so in a heartbeat. Prior to that I had gotten a tetnanus vac, I hadn't had one in more than 30 years. Unfortunately they. bundle it with diptheria and pertusus vac. The pain that ensued from that shot mimiced a heart attack. Lasted more than 16 hours. VERY painful. Apparently some people have permanent damage from this vac. No more vacs for me!
I have read that if you never caught chicken pox as a kid, catching it as an adult will nearly end you. To me, not having had chicken pox as a child sounds like the only permissible reason to get a chicken pox vaccine.
From what I have read, shingles is just chicken pox re-activating when your system is run down and your immune system can't keep it in check. Then it's two weeks or so of pure misery - not life threatening. Not sure how a vax would assist your body to deal with something it already knows about and has beaten previously. Then again, it might be like tetanus or something . . . and the specific antibodies, t-cells or IgG etc holding the virus in check age out.

I can't watch TV anymore because of the brainwashing. So often it's two men flirting with one woman, a man (esp father or husband) is ALWAYS a helpless loser until a Go-Grrrl appears to save the day. Hawk-spit. I'm official a cranky old man.

I have never had shingles, but I've seen it in action and never ever want any part of it. I gladly got vaxxed and would do it again.

My last vaxx was a VA flu shot about 15ish years ago. I quit getting them and since, I've had cold and/or flu like something maybe 8 or 10 times.
