As most of us old farts know from years of marriage, and some of the ex-squaddies learned the hard way - ya watch ya corners. Ya want to be on yer gun, but not so hard down that you have no peripheral vision. You notice things - or else some things will notice you… and do something about it!

Dust cover to keep the outer pane from being scratched. Scratches have sharp edges. Sharp edges cause stress risers leading to cracks and subsquent fauilure; just ask De Havilland about it. The tower crew pulled it before flight.
