A bear *might* shoo away. When a cat gets that close to you… you’re on the menu and you don’t eff around with them. A shot across the bow would probably dissuade them… but at that range…? In that exact scenario? I’d blow the cat away too.
In my experience this never happens in real life. But it pays to be vigilant and prepared.
