Our truck stop Mickey D, has "Hiring $12.50/hr", perpetually listed on the street marque. They're also, perpetually short of help. It's not worth it, even to rednecks and hillbillies. They DO go through a fair amount of pierced, blue, red, green, pink and purple haired "people".
I was up in Slave Lake 100 years ago, pulling into rotten Ronald’s when a teenaged First Nation freeloader tried to shake me down for a handout. I told him to buzz off and of course he got pissy about it and whining about how hungry he was. (He was gonna buy drugs with any money he got).
This McD’s had the same “help wanted” sign out front and I told the young druggie he could literally walk in, start today and get a free meal to boot!
He turned his back on me and stomped away. How RUDE! Can you imagine my hurt feelings? 😂👍
Jeezus, $27.50 is like $57k per year working full time. At motherfucking McD's. I mean, it' a sucky job but but DAMN. It's almost a fucking living. Apartment, second-hand car, and maybe a visit to the cathouse every now and then.
