But … they actually bring up a legitimate bone of contention vis a vis the procurement of Canada’s next generation fighter planes. The hippies want to scrap the procurement of F35s and instead get the “superior” Swedish Gripen fighter plane. I know, right? Suddenly this ratty community of queers, environmentalists, socialists and pacifists are air superiority experts! HAR HAR HAR!
That’s what all the propaganda says right now so I’d take that with three grains of salt. The hell of it though, is that the F35 is something of a lemon and a stinker too… every couple of months we see scenes like this:
Every couple of months there’s an F35 crash and 100 million dollars goes up in smoke. Twice that (at least) if the pilot is lost too.
I’d like to see us go to F-22s but at 150 million - even with its legendary survivability… Canada can’t afford it. In all honesty, our ruling liberals spend so much money on pork, welfare and corruption that we can’t afford a real Air Force. The RCAF has been a bad joke for at least 40 years. That’s why Uncle Sam doesn’t care whether we buy F35s or not. In all honesty, we’d probably be better off with new modernized F16s… but whadda I know?
The only thing I know for sure is that the military will get the shaft, a bunch of shit heel liberals will get envelopes under the table stuffed with cash, and the whole thing will be a fiasco. It always is with these guys.
Maybe Elon Musk will come up with some electric fighter planes we can buy…ðĪŠ
In Australia, when our F-111's were retired, our lefties wanted MiG 35's, Su-27's & Su-30's instead of F-35's long before the Cheeto-man. I think the Malays, Indonesians and dot-not-feather Indians ran them so they were naturally better. Or something.

My question is… what is the best fighter plane these days… and why? Missile and electronic countermeasures are now the order of the day. An F16 can carry anything the Gripen can. The age of air gun fighters is over… hell’s bells… drones can carry missiles now too. Cruise missiles do away with the need for aircraft altogether.

The best fighters already exist, there's at least a dozen. Build upgraded new ones. Make them inexpensive but robust in useful numbers. Same for choppahs. Fuck the Osprey, F-35 and all high maintenance/cost crap.

Well, if you want to go full TDS retard, look at Russian planes. Like said above, they have more bang for the buck. So does the F-16. The f-35 is an overcomplicated lemon. Like those cars with touch screens and subscriptions.
