Christmas Past

In another lifetime long ago… we had cats.

They trashed everything. That what was not trashed - was shredded.
When they wrestled the house shook.
They lived on chaos, pandemonium and destruction.

I still miss them terribly.

  1. I did the hang-a-tree-from-the-ceiling thing several times. Didn't help much. Our current cats haven't played with the tree too much this year, but we only put it up yesterday.

  2. We have one cat, raised by one elder and one middle aged bitches. He thinks he's a dog and is amazingly well mannered. He's an inside, outside cat. Here in the sticks of Tennessee, that means he could disappear at any time. If he does, we'll be heartbroken and get another cat immediately. Some things dogs can't or won't handle.

  3. Growing up my mother had a Calico cat that ran the roost. The first Christmas she did the "lets timber this tree trick." She was horrified of the vacuum cleaner, the one with the roll around canister with a six foot hose to a metal house connected to a beater head. We learned to place that hose around the front of the tree that was in the corner of the living room and she wouldn't walk any where near the tree and if she came close would snarl and hiss at the hose and turned and scamper away. Never had that timber trick again and as she got older stayed away from the tree altogether.
