Used to see a lot of these around when I was a kid. I remember them being deadly accurate too.

  1. I have one of the top model with the tubular magazine and adjustable trigger. The scope is missing but it has peep sights and it can put 4 bullets in one hole at 50yards with the 5th shot just a hair away when I do my part. Production ended in 1941 when Mossberg switched to war production.

  2. In Australia this time of year the ‘burbs ring with the melodious shriek of the world’s biggest parasite bird, the Channel Bill Cuckoo … wonder why there were none around in the 60s when every kid had an air rifle?

  3. I have a Mossberg, tube feed, No. 46 (not model) Pat. Pend., with a proprietary adjustable reticle (4 peeps, just rotate the drum
housing) Mossberg peep sight, Pat. Pend., from 1934-5 in very nice condition. It has a fat target stock with metal trigger guard. It shoots better than I can, not ammo sensitive.

  4. I have a 142A carbine. The one with peep sight rear and folding fore end tip. Its pretty accurate, but not overly so - my CZ 452 will beat it handily. I still like it though - very handy to carry about.
