Tuesday Morn Recommendation

Never seen one like that before…

  1. Chemex. Invented 1941. Great coffee once you master the technique and get all the variables adjusted to your liking.

  2. Yeah, I've got a Chemex - there's a millennial Canadian photographer, Peter McKinnon, who made them a thing about 8 years ago. Bought one as a birthday gift for my wife. She used it for a month and it became too much faffing about - it's been sitting in the top of the kitchen cupboard ever since. She uses a couple of different sized mocha pots.

  3. Got one, comes with a metal mesh filter. Too finely ground coffee will get into your cup. Paper filters could work but we haven't played around with it much since the Keurig works for our needs. It was less than $10 in a damaged box so had to try it.

  4. Technique? Faffing about? What's all that? Using a Chemex is so easy, I'm sure even Filthie can figure it out. Sure, there's some coffee snobs on YouTube making a big production out of it, but all it really is is pouring water over the grounds. Best coffee ever, IMHO.
