The Filthie Vegan & The Saturday Morning Comics

Ahhhhhhhh…Huckyukyukyukyuk!!!

A plate a those and some pickled eggs… and I could put the boots
to Popeye the Sailor!!!
😊👍

Up your ass, Popeye!
HAR HAR HAR!!!

Give me enough of those li’l cabbages … and I’ll
have enough energy to pound Olive Oyl afterward too - if ya
catch me drift!

I’ll leave the viagra and cialus to shrimps like
Cederq and Pete!

Blow me down!!!

Hmpfffff. There’s nothing new these days, is there? Everything is a remake or a re-imagining of stuff that was getting old when I was a kid.

Hrmmm… Speaking of the Spinach Eating Sailor …
he seems to have a gritty new look to bring him into the 21st century.
Popeye has to be coming up on 100 soon I’d think…’

I don’t care what anyone says. All spinach will
do is make your pooh soft and green.

Explosive energy requires explosive energy dense food!
Is Popeye wearing BDU pants…?

Olive is definitely looking much better with the new look…

When I was a kid the Saturday Morning Paper was the high point of the week. We got The Edmonton Urinal  Journal.

The Saturday edition had a comic section for us kids and all the old standbys were in it - Beetle Bailey and Hagar The Horrible, The Wizard of Id, BC, The Peanuts, Dennis The Menace… crap, I can’t remember them all. Now the kids get their comics online… and it’s all drawn by those Japanese manga or anime guys…

😞

The hell of it is that style of cartooning has blown North American artists away. I used to watch my daughter and her fellow “artists” and they all did was Japanese style artwork too, copying them and each other … and they thought they had talent. Are our own cartoonists with their own unique styles slowly disappearing…?

Overall I think getting rid of the old dead tree newspapers was a good thing… but it came at a cost, I suppose.
