Some of the dwindling number of vets are finally saying it. But their countries didn’t betray them. Their children did. Then their grandchildren did. Perhaps the leaders of their day betrayed them as well? It is not yet my contention, but a very nasty suspicion: I’m beginning to think our ancestors defeated the wrong enemy. And afterward, we struck bargains with the wrong friends and allies.
Lest we forget? Hell’s bells - we never learned the lesson we were supposed to remember.
They defeated the right enemy, but stopped without defeating the other even worse one masquerading as ally, and they didn't clean up at home.
