Just spitballing here… but I’m thinking about universal ID… and I’m not convinced it’s a big deal. People are worried that the govts can use it as they get ever more adversarial with the people they govern. I get that… but they have all your vital info already on any number of databases. Our former faggot faced prime minister was de-banking and deplatforming and cancelling people with the greatest of ease. If the Blob views you as a viable threat - trust me - you’ll be on several radars at any given time.
But…imagine this: Shitavious and Shaniqua decided to go do some undocumented shopping. But this time there’s a scanner at the door and they have to ID themselves or they don’t get in. Ditto at the election centre. Ditto at the welfare office. Ditto at the hospital emergency wards. Ditto for the LRT subways…
I dunno. I’m just beginning to think universal ID is a non-issue. If they decide to start ethnically cleansing attacking citizens they’ll just do it as they see fit anyways…?

If you’ve been on social media they know your politics. My question is: the mechanisms for totalitarian control are already there. Everyone has a social insurance number, a driver’s license a birth certificate, a credit card, a cell phone, dog licenses, cat licences, gun permits, boat, radio, fishing, logging permits, etc etc etc.

Think China, its all in one card now that you need to do anything. Your actions are based on your social credit score. Different parts of each community are given SC(social credit) score, if your personal score is lower than the community obe you can't live there.
DeleteRight now you can go to a library and use a public computer anonymously. In china you need to scan your card and every comment, website visit etc is linked to your id.
Want to ride a bus, eat at a restaurant or buy clothes? Show the card to prove you have a social score high enough to be allowed to do those things.
You need certain scores for certain jobs.
Yes all of that is possible in our current system but it takes resources, time and in some cases is not easy; why would we make it easier for them?

At any given time there are vying, powerful factions in China that are playing lethal internecine games behind the scene and we in the west are never aware of it. Awhile back the head ching-chong-Xi disappeared for a few days and analysts over here were wondering if he got whacked by his own fart catchers or the competiion.
If you start starving me it's simple: I start killing people. So would you, and pretty much everyone else. One historical constant is that gov'ts that attack their own people are inevitably destroyed by those people. Many people don't realize it but the PRC is a dead man walking. There is a LOT of suppressed rage in China and at some point it is going to blow - same as it is here, maybe?

After J6, they had to assign thousands upon thousands of FBI agents to track down every retired mom and pop who meandered thru the capital building. In the future one fat blue-haired IT critter can do that with a few keystrokes.

There's still a few businesses set up that way, and I try to keep some ready cash on hand, but using the debit card is just so much more convenient. In the same manner, universal ID will be more convenient. We'll fold, we always fold, and universal ID will be just one more card in our wallet.
I am strictly cash on everything. Fuck them, their dirty looks and their plastic...
