Well ol’ Pete put the military rainbow and unicorn mob on the run earlier this week and he’s taking a lot of heat for it. Coming from a family that got ripped to shreds by woke queers - to me it’s a no brainer. The troons and gays tear their families apart - and they will do the exact same thing to the military. For awhile they did it to the workplace and who knows how many good people were “boiled off” by them and the HR fatties? The military is in the same boat. Who knows how many great, experienced squaddies and officers dropped out because of degenerate wokeness and DEI flunkies? How many potential young recruits walked past the recruiters without a second thought?
In his place, I’d have done the exact same thing. But - I’d start bringing back some other old military traditions too. And first among them would be the reintroduction of aircraft nose art.
Maybe it’s just me but I look at the goofy cartoons and foolish word plays … and maybe it’s a toxic evil male thing… but I see pride in purpose, adversity met with good humour, and fierce, controlled patriotism. It’s a splash of individuality, colour and fun in the midst serious business, discipline, OD green and camo.
It may not be much… but maybe a little bit of Clown World died this week? If so… that’s a good thing.
Amen ... Bring back the nose art. I love checking it out and it makes me think of the guys who came up with that name and what memories they associated with it. And, like you said, a small amount of individual thought in a world of rigidity.
