Well the weekend out is over. Hannah is beat. The wife took a shower - and now I’m sittin’ here killing time and stinking waiting for the hot water to come back! 😊👍 I’m in the shower next!
Y’know… I got a mint condition three burner Coleman naphtha stove downstairs
with canisters of fuel. But with just the wife and I? This cheapo “glamping” stove
is just a champ. Fuel is super cheap, the thing parks on a corner of the picnic table
and you’re ready to rock.
This is the best way to make camp coffee too! There’s a Korean bamboo twister
on OyTube that put me onto these cup size coffee filters. The supports clamp over
your cup, you put whatever kind a coffee you want in…and pour hot water over
it. When yer done just pull it out and throw it in the fire pit.
Had to drink the coffee fast because it cooled off quick in the morning chill.
Last night was kinda tough. The Niglet is a short hair and she gets cold.
She’s also a bed hog and kept trying to steal my spot when I got up to squirt in
the middle of the night. We tried to throw a blanket over her but she wants to get
right into the Dutch oven. The li’l shit kept me awake all night!

These shrubberies were mostly green when I came in. It’s amazing how fast
they turn colours. The summer retreats quickly…
According to the weather app the sun set somewhere around 8:10 PM last night.
Can’t complain…it’s been a great summer this year. I didn’t get much done but
I sure learned a few things.
Been carrying around some spiritual baggage for awhile… and letting it go was
an incredibly difficult thing to do. I recommend small weekend trips for blowing
dust and cobwebs out of the ol’ cranium.
Thanks for posting that. I live so far off that I don’t need to camp out to escape anymore. But you reminded me why I still miss it somehow
