The Filthie Critic: 1923

Well I finally got around to watching ‘1923’ starring all ya favourite Hollywood chuckleheads.

Makes me want to dress up and run around in khakis,
knee boots and putties and openly pack my
guns in fancy custom leather…

Sadly I live in an age where the crocs fit…
so I wear them.
๐Ÿ˜ž

The props, the gun leather, the scenery were all first rate. I laughed like hell at the African scenes. They shoulda fired that hack that played The Great White Hunter and cast WL Emery in the role instead! The usual cast of man-eating lions, leopards, and hyenas were there - even the killer elephants were in it. Watching a CGI Retumbo trash a vintage Packard was a treat. Our Hero finished them all off with a beautiful classic double rifle with one clean shot! (WL would have killed them all at once with one dirty look, HAR HAR HAR!!!)

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

What the hell… it was fun. On the downside… was the usual anti-white tropes. In Africa Whitey treated all the darkies horribly because of course he did. One of the side story plots involves the Catholic residential schools for Indian girls near Bozeman Montana. The nuns were abusive lesbians and pedophiles who loved torturing and raping the innocent defenceless native girls, and the Roman Catholic principal was a sadist who enjoyed torturing and raping the girls and the nuns - because of course they did!

…goes for blacks, natives, and other vibrants for that matter…

But in spite of the usual woke messaging the yarn still entertains. I’m almost through the first season and I think I’ll finish watching it. I was shocked in that it was produced by the MTV yo-yo’s.

The experience leaves me wanting to go to Africa and play with double rifles. Maybe in one of the smaller calibres? Wonder if I can borrow one of WL’s Rigby rifles in .577 Kynoch, or .505 Gibbs…?

Errrrrrmmmm… BAH! If I were to go to Africa I’d do just fine with a No.1 in .375 magnum. And if I missed, I’d just dispatch my dangerous game with a knife…or my bare hands!

Because of course I would. ๐Ÿคก

  1. So you're shooting the .375? That means I'm going to have to shoot back-up, which means a sore shoulder and possibly a gun bearer that's going to get a class-A attitude adjustment when we get back to camp. Your gun bearer has to be more afraid of you than of whatever is charging you, and you'd do well to remember that.

As for hostile natives or some sort of uprising, I've got a good collection of beads and trinkets I collected in New Orleans during Mardi Graus season. I've also got a pair of Chicago Typewriters with three spare drums of ammo, so we should be all set - guns or butter, croc bait! Your choice.

  2. Fancy schmancy limpwrist longhair lukewarm sitpeeing manbun craftbrew decaf pillowbiting shirtlifting Ruger 1. Not much talk of a Ruger 2.

.450-577 black powder Martini Henry made the dark continent safe for the Ruger 1. Also made it unsafe for darkies, which fled to anywhere where folks don't carry .450-577 black powder Martini Henrys. Shame we never made white powder guns, we'd be rid of the greasers and spics too.

  3. If you drop that No. 1, you have to commit seppuku. You know that, right?

  4. A friend of mine had one of those .375's back in the day. Claimed it was his deer rifle. I might have fired it a time or two. I have my own H&H - a Winchester 70. It'll definitely kill a deer and aoudad too. I bought it thinking I might go to Africa on safari some day but now I wouldn't go near that pestilential nigger infested shithole on a bet. I should sell it and a bunch of other safe queens that no longer fit my needs, but it's just too much damned trouble.

    1. TwoDogs, you could find good gun shop and consign them. If you're in the US, in a free state, you can sell them on Armslist.
If your M70 is pre '64 or control round feed (Mauser style), it's likely worth WELL north of a thousand bucks. Just went looking around. There's NO pre 64 M70's out there for less than $1500. Depending on grade and condition, it could be $5000+.
Also, you can sell online, right here, you put out a list, we bid, do a dealer to dealer transfer.

  6. 375 is a little lite for Africa, try a 416 Rigby. It'll drop a dagga boy right quick.
