Home Again

Welp… home again, eh?

We checked in with our land owner and between what he owns and what he leases, we have access to hunt on 4200 acres. I think we should be able to do it in this quarter here where we camped. The day was spent doing some scouting and archery while trying not to trip over the bloody dogs. We had four altogether: The Niglet, Flapz’ two pocket dawgs, and one big bejeezus galoot that weighed in at 185 lbs.

Jinx is an old Dane/bull mastiff cross. I loved him - he had a great big
empty coconut for a head, slobbered and drooled when he was happy (which
was most of the time) and he was super friendly.

He reminded me of my beloved Mort who passed away a couple years back.

Nobody was on a leash, the li’l dawgs tried to pick fights with the big ones but were largely ignored, and the wives chattered and clucked. At night I banked the coals and watched the fire and the stars. Satellites are everywhere now. Caught a few shooting stars. You don’t get stargazing like that in the city.

Two broke down old relics from other times
Funny, the things ya find in the corners of the backfields tucked away from
the roads…

The chores and the pup beckon. Hope you all are ready for deer season - and thanks for stopping by and keeping the stubfarts and retards from burning the blog down while I was away.

Cheers!

  1. I'm envious. Do you have whippoorwills at night?

  2. Filthy, that's the secret to happiness. None of us can do much to change what's happening in our countries or World today, so live your life to the fullest and enjoy it.

I bet you feel a lot better after your weekend trip. Those are the memories that count and on your death bed those are the things you'll remember not what Trump or Carney did this week.
