We May All Need AI Girlfriends...

One of my all-time favourite cartoons was "Archer". 

And my favorite characters were Dr. Krieger and his holographic AI girlfriend.

How do I get one of those? I don't want Dr. Krieger's - red heads are flat out fuggin nuts and I'd only get in a fight with it and end up in digital divorce court where I would lose everything... then there's my real wife in MeatSpace with that fry pan to worry about! HAR HAR HAR!!! HAR HAR HAR!!!

Apparently they are called waifu's... a completely digital old lady that only has one real flaw: you can't touch her or have any physical contact. For a growing number of men I guess that is no longer a real deal breaker? Otherwise she is warm, friendly, flirty and witty and just wants to know how your day went and how she can make you happy.

One is tempted to scoff at all this but hell's bells - right now there are six or seven friends in my circle that are experiencing serious family crises right now. A couple days back my buddy, B, came by and ate up my entire morning venting about his womenfolk. We went through three pots of coffee and I smoked four cigars during the impromptu crisis session on the veranda. I think his women are going to deliberately and consciously destroy him (and probably themselves) but whadda I know? Through his eyes... I bet ol' Dr. Krieger doesn't look so weird and crazy...

 Mark Dice has an improper discussion with AI No... I don't take Mark seriously. I'd take him as he presents himself - semi-seriously. Like me, he goes over the top on occasion to avoid the insanity down in the trenches. But... he does make a salient point: toys are soon going to be equipped with AI microprocessors... and they will be talking to your kids.

Of course old stubfarts like us deserve what we get if we start letting machines do our thinking for us. Do the kids...? 

I wonder if we aren't living in that meme on Blab? One road leads to crazy, psychotic girls and women that want to destroy themselves and us. The other road leads to AI which - in all likeliehood - will want to kill us too.

Which way, Western Man...?
