Near as I can tell is that everyone was taken by surprise by it. His conversations with ATC and the chase plane were lucid and polite. So often the suicides are vengeful, nasty things where the perp wants to hurt as many others as possible and cash out with the biggest raised middle finger they can give before they go. I may be superstitious but I sense demonic involvement with some. Who knows what was going through his mind? Everyone just seemed to know that neither he nor the plane wasn’t coming back. Somehow the Sky King took hopelessness and tragedy and put it in motion, and the motion in turn was converted to poetry in a final aerial ballet. I hope he finally found a place to rest his soul.

ReplyDeleteWe just don't know what's going on in folks lives and heads. There has been many more since Covidiocy destroyed people jobs, bodies, minds and families, not to mention the epidemic of US veteran (and Commonwealth?) suicides.

At the time the communications with him suggested he took it on an impulse and didnt think it through about landing, not that he was planning to die. He went out of his way to avoid injuring or killing others and expressed thanks to ATC and apologized for what he did and the trouble he was causing. He sounded more like someone who broke out of his programming and refused to ve a wind up toy.
ReplyDeleteKind of like the guy with armour and guns at a mall who shot himself and left a note saying he refused to let himself be forced to kill. That left the news quick. These two may have been intended as programmed killers to cause choas but managed to free themselves.
