The Beast Blinks

Well I guess the Crapper Barrel tempest in a teapot is over. Supposedly the manageMINT is rethinking things in hopes of avoiding the Bud Light treatment.

The question is - do you forgive them for stuff like this? As a customer I don’t, generally speaking. Awhile back I got an invite out to coffee by some lefty liberal friends to Starbucks. I declined and told them why: they’re flying hag (militant feminist) and fag flags, they hate guns, they hate hunting, and their coffee sucks balls and costs too much. Even if they fix all that, I don’t care! I now go to a coffee shop run by some Italian Goodfellas called Spinelli’s. It’s attached to an Italian grocery store. There’s no politics, virtue signalling or bullshit. They make coffee. Their deli and bakery blows Starbucks out of the water. While the items are all a bit cheaper than Starbucks, you end up spending more because the damn sammiches and pastries are so good. There’s no politics. The girls working there are pretty and they keep their fuggin mouths SHUT.

I’m doing it with all these woke companies now. And usually the companies I replace them with offer superior products and/or services. If some dipshit Girlboss want’s to put on the matador’s outfit and goad me into charging - I won’t charge the red flag, Chickie.

But it gets me thinking too. I buy and shop out of habit. What are those habits based on? I go out and buy Tide because I always have. I buy Folger’s because I always have. I go to the same local restaurant because I always have.

Maybe some good has come out of this stupid culture war? Changing your buying habits is seldom a bad thing. Maybe I should be looking at all my purchase decisions and making changes?

EDIT/ADDITION

Ultimate Ordnance confirms my suspicions. Once they publicly go woke there’s no point in going back to them - for me at least. They’ll still promote degenerates politics and financially support them - but they’ll just not be as forward about it. It’s a free country, they can do what they want - and so will I.

  1. The logo wasn't even the tip of the iceberg, it was the little bird sitting on top of the berg. It did bring lots of attention to the decades of queer support, ESG, and bias training. Add to that the changes from fresh, scratch cooking to institutional reheat, bioengineered ingredients and DEIclining service and you have a company that was already on the skids. Income from 2019 to 2024 about 10% increase while prices jumped about 50%. They were already hemorrhaging customers. The logo episode has only served to make more customers aware of the company's true colors (rainbow) and making buying decisions on that basis. Pity, it started so well those many decades ago.

  2. When someone lets the mask down and you understand they hate you, Mehhh,, no apologies will undo that. As a lone geezer, their Thanksgiving grub was pretty okay. Ohh well,, I'll find something else.

  3. What humanity needs is an App that quickly lets the user know the level of woke-ification of any given product or service and the available alternatives.

    1. Such an app would get delisted from the woke store, oops I mean App store/Google PlayStore, and the makers likely enmeshed in lawfare for naming and shaming even using publicly available info.

Filthie's solution is perfect - the consumer must take the time and pay attention to where he spends his money. The riskier extra step that >may< work is to tell the company why you'll no longer support them. This means finding the CEO's email address and using a throw away email account, but there's a big chance you'll get publicly doxxed - so maybe that step is not worthwhile.

    2. The only genuine democracy remaining is how we vote with our cash. Stop funding shit that sucks. Stop supporting companies that hate you and your way of life. Real simple. And, YES, it takes research and self control. But what other peaceful option do you have to actually make difference?

    3. Funding tech companies, their apps and other surveillance and mind control shit is funding the enemy. Does it need to be as obvious as But Light to figure out who to boycott?

  4. There’s no shortage of places for a consumer to spend their money. While I liked Cracker Barrel years ago, I found them overpriced in recent years, but that is true of most places these days. I find myself avoiding big corporate food chains and searching out mom and pop establishments. Seems corporations always betray their base in search of that next increase in profits, much like a political party searching for one more vote.

  5. I avoid “them” when I can but oftentimes it is easier to bite my tongue and keep the wife happy.

  7. Good has come of the culture war. It's reaffirmed that communism sucks and its adherents are evil maniacs, and it's proven that capitalism works. If companies push a bad product, they will lose money and consumers will seek an alternative in response.
