Do they put any powder in it..?
Hrrrrmmmmmpffff. 🤨
I must live under a rock! I’ve never heard of it before. A boolit the size of a mouse turd moving at 450 FPS… I’da thunk it must be some crazy Euro weenie stuff you can’t get here but the sell it right here in town at Ukranian Tire. A l’il while back I think I saw some rattle about a .21 rim fire gun coming out too.
Whatever…! Think I’ll just stick with the old standard myself. I think these guys are either trying to re-invent the wheel or polish a turd…

I have a few boxes of BB & CB caps - they are nearly silent but are a PITA to load as they are so tiny. Maybe they are like this but will function through a magazine? Or they could be a modern version of 22-Z ammo ? Either way, useless to me as my old Anschutz only likes high velocity ammo. It sprays Eley 10X and other quality “standard” velocity target ammo but is incredible with high velocity hunting ammo.
ReplyDeleteThat, my dear maple nigger, is a CB cap. They make them to chamber in .22 short as well. Light bullet and the primer is the only propellant. If I recall correctly that was the original .22rf cartridge, invented and promoted by a Fwenchman named Flobert. Apparently they once were popular for target shooting as a parlour game and somebody figured out they would be useful for outside chores if there was a little powder in the case, too. Not exactly a magnum but very very quiet (out of a 20” bbl bolt gun it’s a good bit quieter than an air rifle) which can be very handy on occasion. Plenty powerful enough for squirrels and rats as long as they’re close.
ReplyDelete^^^That's it.
Deletei keep a few boxes of CB's. i have 3 old remington bolts that will digest anything i load in the magazines.
Deletea plastic soda bottle on the end and all i can hear is the firing pin fall, and the squirrel hitting the ground or a rabbit flopping.
I've used it for years in a Ruger Single 6 against the dreaded rabbit and squirrel invaders. It is pretty quiet and effective to about 50ft or so. That's as far as I have used it at least.
ReplyDeleteReally? I wouldna thunk they’d have the power for that! Interesting… are they as noisy as .22 shorts or long rifles…?
DeleteNot noisy at all. Nearly silent. Won’t cycle a semi auto but they are great in a bolt gun or revolver. Very hard to find around my part of the US. Stock up if you have a source to buy from. Wish I did.
DeleteMy dear maple nigger. Now that’s hilarious for a Saturday morning!! Thanks quantishanhairiass.
ReplyDeleteGabbagabbaweebeejabba!!! 👍🏿
DeleteGood old CB caps - perfect for that old single action six-gun. Almost quiet enough for an indoor shooting gallery.
ReplyDeleteTry the CCI cb longs. They are quiet and feed better in some magazines. Also easier to handle for older hands.
DeleteIn a rifle they are quieter than some pellet rifles.

I think Colibri once made and sold a "parlor gun" -- yes, really -- of .17 caliber. Apparently, people with parlors had pastimes we no longer practice.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in So. Cal., that was in all well stocked gun stores.

Refered to in these parts as " mexican cat killers".
ReplyDeleteAn acquaintance was using them to annihilate a herd of pidgins from his airplane hanger. Killed all the pidgins and didn’t ventilate the roof.
