I'm not a big fan of Salty - he's a little too over the top for me personally, even though I agree with 99% of what he says. You can probly turn him off after just a few minutes is my experience. Typically he puts the subject matter up front and then dissolves into angry spitting, hissing and Tourette's. Same act as General Aesop pretty much. I guess this is the latest victim of his own stupidity. Some dude got shot in the nuts earlier with a rubber bullet and that made me smile for the day.
But that DOES raise a valid question. I know that both Tiny and BP did some "pre-season scouting" right before the "No Kings" protest. I am kinda sorta questioning the value of that. Aren't they former squaddies? Y'know... I've never had to hunt humans before or kill them for sport and amusement. What kind of intel can you gather from such scouting?What are you looking for? And what can you do with the knowledge?
We are far from armed insurrection up here in Canada. For me it is a general interest inquiry...

after all, it not the REMF's that have to put their ass out there on the line. but your ass. if nothing else, you can find and plan on different exit routes. and you better have more than 2 ways out of any hole you might fall into. just saying, of course.

As Anon said above. Especially nowadays... it's not like I can go down to the local Sherriff's orifice and ask who the local troublemakers are. Intel gathering and recon on a personal level is a good thing. In this case, it was a wee bit of a flop, in the respect the 'show' in MY A.O. consisted of bedshitters and Boomers trying to relive their Woodstock Days sticking it 'to the Man'

Also I didn't notice any out-of-state plates outside of the usual tourist vehicles (you can always tell them) as r/n the snnowbirds have gone North for the summer as it's getting hotter than Satan's Anus 'round here these days.
Enemy Identification is helpful. Demographics of the bad guys is helpful. Number counts is helpful. Examining the Crowd "Attitude" of those present can tell you a lot too... are they angry/loud/disruptive? Potentially violent? All things that can give you a feel of the temperature of your Area of Operations. Also took a look at the signs they were carrying. In my area? It didn't seem 'funded' so to speak. All the signs were home-made and NOT slickly produced Soros Funded 'stuff'... the few flyers that were around were mass produced probably at the local Staples
Like Anon said, best to get your own intel. ESPECIALLY if there's no sourcing it outside of 'regular channels' like the Enemedia (who BTW said there were about 100 folks there... I counted less than 30)
