This morning we ran across Mrs. Mallard and her family on the way to Dawg Island. Theres about four families along the creek and they’re all doing well. I’ve been keeping score on them and they’ve list remarkably few babies this year.👍
The geese are down in my immediate area - only seen about 3 families with goslings but they’re doing well too… very few losses.
Which is odd - to me at least. There’s warning signs all over the park warning about coyotes but … I’da thunk that if there actually WERE coyotes around…wouldn’t they chow down on these ducklings? I haven’t seen any park coyotes this year but that doesn’t mean anything.
You lot better be sharp with your 12 bores and scatterguns later this fall. It’s gonna be a good season.
