Cooking With Fire

Well I tried cooking spuds in foil in the campfire. They look awful but tasted great. My fire pit wasn’t as elegant as the stove above… but it did the trick…

Once ya scrape the char off… gaaahhhhhhhhh….

  1. Dat's a Kitchen Queen. Relatively modern "Amish" stove.

    1. Thanks Fido! I could kinda tell it was modern… there are no flourishes that the old stoves seem to have…

  2. Please tell me that isn't your tea pot? My queer sister had one like that. I don't know about you, maybe you need to eat charred Brussel Sprouts...

    1. That’s a good kettle, Cederq! The wife got it off Temu! I think she paid 62 cents for it…😂

I have a boutique tungsten hiker’s kettle that probly cost $620 ten years ago … and we never use it… I think we both have screws loose and seriously bad problems with consumerism and materialism. They’ll probably both go for 5 bucks when we have the garage sale and downsize in our later years… 😖

  3. Burnt campfire spuds? We called 'em "Mickeys" back when I was a kid. I don't know why, we just did. We'd also camp at the beach sometimes & soaked the husked corn in 5 gal. buckets of seawater before cooking too.
