I never got into The Bay much myself. Neither of us really patronized The Bay. My wife is a bargain hawk and even when she isn’t pinching pennies she’d buy from stores that sold kitchen stuff, or stores that sold furniture or other general retailers like Costco.
The first guys out this way, 250 years ago, worked for The Bay. They traded lighter fluid booze and googaws to the Indians for furs.
Well I guess we welcome all those laid-off employees to the global economy and keep selling ourselves out to the chinks at Temu or the jews at Wally World…?
Sears, K-Mart, Woolworth’s, now the bay. This is my surprised face.

The Mrs and I visited Toronto thirty years ago. We wanted to buy a keepsake to remember the visit by. Went to a Hudson Bay outlet to buy a blanket...$80, US thirty years ago.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. Too pricey.
They'll find a way to blame Trump.
ReplyDeleteThe Bay also owns Zellers and Field's chains. Part of the Bay's problem is they were very late to understand the change to online retail.
