Today at the li’l chapel out in the country they were speaching about the law as laid out in Exodus. There was a blurb in there about how cursing politicians out is a sin against God and that if ya disagree with ‘em you’re supposed to pray for them. The timing of it does not seem to favour mere coincidence.
I am not a Godly man, because no way will I pray for the likes of Creepy Joe. If I felt moved to mention people like that in prayer it would be for God to hurry up and please deal with them. That’s the best i can do.
And maybe He has? Who knows? Not gonna gloat because my turn’s coming I suppose. It’s always fun watching the other guy get his… but what goes around comes around.

I agree with you 1hundrit percent. Dnms
ReplyDeleteFilthie, not to be a biblical scholar but I have gotten into this with many fundamentalists over the years.
ReplyDeleteAre you a Christian or a Jew ?
If you are Jew you much follow ALL of the laws in the Old Testament including keeping kosher.
If you are a Christian, none of that applies.
Jesus said:
Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him, since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?” (Thus, he declared all foods clean.) And Jesus said, “What comes out of a man is what defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man” (Mark 7:18-23)
I’d tend to agree Jimmy.
DeleteAnd Biden is one of those guys that will make the world a better place when he’s gone.
Interesting point, JimmyPx, is that there is no jew on earth that can follow the OT laws. Quite simply, God made it impossible by having the Romans destroy the temple and then using various arabs and muslims to make sure it never gets rebuilt. Due to this fact, no jew can sacrifice an animal at the temple anymore to rid themselves of sin. The only way to rid yourself of sin today is Jesus, so unless they go Christian, they're all full of sin and going to hell. They had to write a whole nother book, create a new religion from scratch, and jews today basically pretend the OT doesn't exist anymore. That's a pretty big "In Yo Face" to the so-called chosen people.
DeleteI would be curious about the scripture that was referenced in Exodus. I don't recall the Israelites having any politicians during the period of time that Exodus covers.
ReplyDeleteI think they used the term “leaders” in the lecture?
DeleteIf they used the term "leaders" then you are good to go ahead and curse the politicians since they are meant to be "public servants", not "leaders".
DeleteYou can pray that God brings Biden to repentance and mercy, or to justice. Either way, we can celebrate.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 5:17
ReplyDeleteIn the Bible, Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." This verse is from Matthew 5:17 and is part of the Sermon on the Mount Kent in Michigan
If I may be so bold, the fulfillment lay in the adherence to the moral laws that regulated the behaviors of one to the other, such as children obeying parents, but this should happen when parents are WORTHY parents. And recall the Parable of the Good Samaritan; the Samaritans were not in good odor with the Pharisees because they didn’t practice their faith according to their rules, yet it was the Samaritan who took care of the man by the wayside who had been robbed and beaten, not the haughty, but ostensibly observant, jew who ignored his plight. Jesus spiritualized the Law, not standing upon empty observance as a sufficient grasp of its meaning.
DeleteHe didn’t say, “Those shrimp fisherman in Louisiana? Those guys are all going to hell, because you aren’t supposed to eat shellfish”. He, himself, was lambasted by the Scribes and Pharisees for supposedly breaking their functionally arbitrary “laws”. Those are kind of like, put on your mask, stay six feet apart, make sure that your kids all get their clothes shots, ‘cause the Big Pharisees, Fauchi and Birx said so, and Simon says.
Just my take,
JerseyJeffersonian
Jesus also said render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, but Paul (and others) spent much time in Roman jails for violating Roman law by preaching Christianity. Also recall that Jesus was killed by his govt too. So, kind of a mixed message. There's the whole God put leaders over us so to protect us and establish law, but also the thing about we get the leaders we deserve. All I'm saying is that there's a lot of gray in that area of study. Mostly I try to keep politics out of my prayers.
