I want to understand this, but having a little trouble putting it together. I would expect the numbers for the sub age categories to add up to what is stated at the top for the total of those ages. Maybe it's just me.
The numbers don’t add up because they’re “per 100,000” and the denominator is different in the individual age groups. Or did I misunderstand your question?
I don't think that last line, Projected Lifetime, is statistically correct. The rest is spot on.
And I would say "transgender" is closer to 0.05 in terms on an actual mental illness (body dysmorphia), and 0.45 in terms of nitwits and other assorted oddities latching onto the trend of the day. That and middle age males with a kink that makes foot fetish freaks look almost normal.
The mixed race marriage is interesting - are they merely talking about black-white or all mixed marriages? I know of more than a few and my circle of acquaintances is quite limited. I know several white male - oriental/philippino female marriages. And quite a few white/mexican marriages right off the top of my head.
I think the data makes sense if you assume the individual murders by age range is per year, not over the span of years in each age group. If that is true, then the "ALL" row is the average murder rate (per 100,000) per year for the expected (average) lifetime of each column. Average lifetime varies by race and sex. "Lifetime" row is the average number of murders over the lifetime of 100,000 for each column. So Black Males live about 70 years, White males about 78 years (Divide "Lifetime" value by the "ALL" value for each column to get the average lifetime assumed for each group.) ART
