After The Scam

Well it’s all over but the crying in the Kraine. That turd brained jewish-Ukraine midget Zelensky is going to either abscond with his stolen millions soon…or wake up dead one morning. Blumpf and Putler are both sick of the bullchit and rightfully so.

The Yank military industrial complex has been exposed as almost a complete scam. Supposedly they’ve been churning out expensive wonder weapons that turn out to be flops on the battlefield. The Javelin missile launchers were so bad the Ukes threw them away. On Telegram you can see Russian T72s shrugging off multiple hits. Like everyone else I bought the hype and thought they were giant killers that would render armoured cav obsolete. The Patriot missiles were a flop too. The Russians scrapped the Bradley fighting vehicles the second they went out on the battlefield. Laughing Russians could be seen gathering around the charred hulks of supposedly indestructible Abrahms tanks. I’m watching with interest as the Yanks move to that new service rifle they’ve committed to and I just shake my head.

I guess that’s the latest and greatest Abrahms tank in the pic above. It’s got revolutionary armour, the latest weapons and imaging systems, heated seats and infotainment systems.  That beast sure looks impressive dununnit?

That’s a Russian BMP that they started building in the 60s. They’ve got 7000 of them, at least, with an estimated 7000 more with their allies.

I’ve seen those 30mm auto cannons in action. When they hit armour plate, the rounds strike with so much kinetic energy that the metals burn. Chunks of metal the size of my fist are torn loose and turned into shrapnel. When I saw stuff like that I seriously wonder how you’d build anything that could stand up to it…? I would bet that if the Abrahms in the pic faced off against multiple BMPs… the Russians will get the better of it.  I dunno what the ratio is but I’ll bet that for the cost of the Abrahms… the Russkies could build 4 or 5 BMPs.

I’m really not liking any of this. Technology can only do so much. If I am correct with my suspicions…I don’t think America is the superpower that many think it is. Worse - I suspect the “technical superiority” of American equipment is rapidly eroding.

I hope I’m wrong about all that… and sure hope someone somewhere is looking into it…

  1. really this is nothing new. back in 1978 , I was with the team testing the carl Gustaf 84mm rocket launcher. it was hands down better than ANYTHING we had. iron sights to back up the optic one. just about grunt proof too. on "show day" 3 army generals and 2 Marine ones where in the stands. we fired off a bunch of rounds. it had like 10 or more different ones.
the army generals didn't even watch or care. the Marine generals did. they got down and fired it with us. took out note pads/books and asked us what we thought of it. they wrote everything down too. we thought it was a sure thing. really it was a great weapon system ! but no. the army bought the Dragon instead. everything I heard about it , it was a mess and a joke. it had to cost thousands more than the Carl G did and one type of round ? funny thing, after gulf war one, you never heard of it again. so. image how I felt seeing the "news" on GWOT years later and seeing SF troops using the Carl G and saying how wonderful it was for the job at hand. this was 2004-5 maybe. and we could have had it years ago like 1980.
so, yeah. the assholes at the five sided funny farm have been buying junk for years. we often wonder who got paid for the damn Dragon over the much better Carl G. dave in pa.

  2. I like this place and you seem reasonable, but I can tell you without hesitation that a 30 mm cannon against an M1 Abrams would be at worst Buddy Rich on a bender.

    1. Hopium, we all get it occasionally.
That 30mm doesn't have to penetrate armor. it just has to beat up the detection systems. They are vulnerable. Maybe jam the turret.. it can certainly blow off tracks.
The latest and greatest Abrams will burn like the earlier models.
NO tank is safe on today's battle field.

    2. Agreed. I can tell just by looking at it - that if you hose the turret with 30mm all those top works are coming off.

But the Abrahms is vulnerable to other foes too. It runs a turbine engine that is a maintenance nightmare, it’s a fuel gobbling whore, and an absolute pig in terrain -so I’ve been told. The BMP is definitely NOT any of those things and as Mike notes…their numbers negate their obsolescence.

  3. Not all weapons are as great as described.

Seems repeated recoilless rifle fire next to your head isn't a good idea.

  4. Never military but remember interviews with David Hackworth & how he detested all the “Buck Rodgers” wonder gear that no one asked for and couldn’t tolerate field conditions back in the Vietnam conflict. Have a read of “About Face” if you get the chance. Sounds like things got a billion times worse. Can’t imagine what Hackworth would have said about the HDTV, stunning & brave leadership and the 69th intersexual dildo brigade mentality .

    1. That rainbow shit has to stop. It’s killing everything, not just the military…

  6. And the Canadian Army learned that the German Leopard 2 tank is pretty much useless on the battlefield as well.

  8. The Russians just tested a captured Bradley against their current BMPs, and found the BMPs sorely lacking. Their 30mm gun wasn't as capable as the Bradley's 25mm. The BMP turns into an inferno when hit, where the Bradley usually lets the crew and passengers survive. The sole advantages of the BMP are 1) it's cheap and 2) it can swim.

    1. Cheap is an asset in the modern battlefield.

So is keeping your ABILITY to build stuff INSIDE your country.

We've LOST the ability to build tanks almost a decade ago as the wiz bang folks moved funding to Wunder weapons.

We can barely repair and refit a dozen (yep 12) tanks a YEAR. Seems we retired out our foundry men and equipment to cast massive armor parts.

Cheap and effective wins as 10K drones burning up 2+ MILLION-dollar missiles show in the Hothi "Mission Accomplished".

    2. Agreed, Michael.

When American P51 Mustang pilots first ran into the German Me-262s, the only way they could defend their bomber groups was to put themselves directly between the new breed of jets and the bombers.

That tech is great for when you’re up against camel jockeys and dune coons and their ilk. If you go up against a peer military… the result is trench warfare. America isn’t geared up to fight that way anymore.
