THIS Is Why You NEED A .410

…or… in my case where I’m a bit slower and less of a wingshot… maybe
a 28 gauge…?
And of course that’d have to come in a super elegant, super light
side by side too.

Gawd… a fella’d need a fly rod to use all the flies he could tie from
the plumage from these l’il buggers!

I wish I were a kid back on the farm sometimes. I’d love to raise a couple
dozen every year…

… brass shot shells… or paper…?

  1. Headshot .177 diabolo from a 12+J air rifle, with good glass. Nobody will hear it, and you won't be eating pellets.

  2. Those two gauges are made in such small quantities that they are expensive!

    1. What, .410? I get them all the time, in bird, defense loads. No any more expensive than 12 gauge or 16 gauge. 28 gauge may be expensive, I don't know, don't own one nor want too, my .410, 16, 12 gauges do all my work quite well.

  3. Nobody makes a hammer double smaller than 12 gauge anymore. Pity. I'd buy one.

  4. Back in the day, '61-'63, my bad would take me dove hunting in Imperial Valley, So. Cal. My dad bought me a 410 pump, couldn't hit shit. One year, during the mid day lull, a friend stopped by and while they bs'd, the guy asked if i'd like to try his 20 ga. side by, sure! I couldn't miss! I was astounded! I wasn't a blind, uncoordinated, tard!
After graduating to 12 Ga., I was an pretty good shot. Haven't been bird hunting in decades, sure do miss it.

  5. 28 gauge, but you'd better be able to shoot.
