The craze right now for certain white people is to shit all over themselves and their heritage by humiliating themselves for minorities. I was on OyToob where some kippered soyboy from the UK was claiming these things developed more horsepower and accuracy than the famed Flemish long bows. Of course in real life, had the archers faced Japanese instead of the fwench at Agincourt… they would have eaten them alive too.
Turkish composite bows are the best. The English/Welsh yew selfbow is nothing to sneeze at, with draw weights up to 200lb.
ReplyDeleteThe Japanese did not have access to yew as the Europeans did or horn and sinew like the Mongolians. Bamboo will work but most bows made from it are ridiculously long and need a long draw. The most powerful bamboo bows are laminated, which is a longer process than needed for a self bow.

You can say the same about their samuri swords too. Japan as an island has shit for steel/iron, that's why they had to "fold" the metal as much as they did to get any strength out of it. A good European long sword is better steel by far. The worship of all things oriental is immature and obscene.
