Hrmpmpmfffff.
When I think of plastic-fantastic pocket guns I always think Glock, S&W, Sig… and there others but those are the big three… for me, anyways. But pretty much everyone has a compact out now…even my good friends at HK!
Even with all the crap on it… that is one handy little pistol, eh?
We’ll have to see where these idiot gun bans go in Canada. If they actually move forward on them and somehow get all my guns - I’ll have to scoot down to the US and see if I can procure replacements through the back channels.
As an update - I just got through reading Tiny's excellent screed on quality vs price. He makes a number of valid points when it comes to pricey guns vs the lower tier offerings. It's a "must read" IMO. Gawd knows - it's way, WAY too easy to spend too much money on guns n' gear. Tiny is shooting less expensive guns - not CHEAP guns. That is an important distinctiont, at least to my mind. Buying junk seldom works out well.
I ain't gonna shit on anyone shooting less expensive guns. I know better; I have been SPANKED in any number of informal stubfart turkey shoots by guys using such guns. Nobody worth listening to is going to critique you for shooting lower tier guns. Tiny expounds wisely about some of the guntube vloggers too. I largely agree with his OyTube shit list and might add that smarmy faggot off the Firearm Blog. There's any number of guys in this hobby that will try to set themselves up as elitists and authorities and the noob has to watch out for them. One of the 'tells' is when they start mocking your guns n' gear.
Is this pocket pistol a needlessly more expensive gun? Maybe. Probably? I don't fuggin care! Hate on HK all you want; I could bloviate on HK's legendary QA/QC. There's probably any number of elite war fighters and police agencies using it to light up terrorists and rag heads n' bad guys. Again - I don't care. I like it because I am an unrepentant HK fanboy, and although I'd have to actually lay hands on it - I can tell the ergonomics of it would fit me to a tee! If I don't miss my guess that thing is cut and milled to accept all the farkles and Barbie accessories with no after market gunsmithing required. Because HK does its QA/QC up front - these guns are literally ready, right out of the box, to go straight into a dog fight that could literally have your life hanging by a thread. Sig has had production teething problems with some of their guns, as has Glock. That is what happens when manufacturers run their guns out to market before they're ready. This HK is a pistol for someone that knows what he wants and has a few extra pennies to spend on it. It's not a gun for everyone. But... If I can afford it... I will take the HK and mid-tier guns myself.
You do you - it's all good as long as we're all shooting and nobody does anything stupid, HAR HAR HAR!!!

Had to laugh - dumb ass me looked at that pic & thought, "Oh goodie, a HK Pistol with interchangeable laser, folding bayonet (giggle) and torch . . . "
ReplyDeleteThat would be an ideal EDC (at $1200-1500 US). Old coots need all the help we can get, like, two eye sighting, a little red dot, a 300 to 1000 lumen, mounted light (manually intermittent). Bad guys like low light situations and they bring friends.
ReplyDeleteMy HK kryptonite, is the P7. REALLY pricey these days ($2-4k US). The one I shot was so long ago, it had the European, heel clip, mag release.
It was super accurate with the varied ammo we ran through it.
