The idea must have some tactical merit. I think Bracken was a SEAL in his younger days or something similar. He’s pushing this concept and I can see its viability when the boys are going full auto and dumping 30 rounds at a gulp and doing fire suppression and squad support.
If I’m ever in a tactical situation I expect to be dead before I get through my first mag….
That happens faster if you stop moving!

Roger that!
DeleteAs you, I am prepared. And have loaded mags staged throughout the house, but doubt I will survive to reload.
ReplyDeleteWhen you're young, dumb and full of cum, you can run and gun with mags like that.
ReplyDeleteAt my age I'm just a step away from the mobility scooter brigade. Give me a boltie and 600 yard range and I can probably survive long enough to reload at least once.
Justin, Don, you pretty much described me, add labored breathing after severa---some seconds.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be so sure of the short time survival comments. Older guys tend to have experience, practice time, and self-control. This tends to produce hits on the enemy, who will become discouraged after three shots produce three dead bodies. Then someone will have a little prairie dog moment, and the count goes up.
ReplyDeleteHeaven help them all if some old codger takes hard cover behind them and starts working his way forward.
