Quantum Computers: We're ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!

We continue to live in the age of  Hocus Pocus and Abra Kadabra. It used to be we divided the players on the stage between sinners and saints, and left it to the priests and cool kids to tell us which is which. Today we leave it to scientists and techs. The church made itself irrelevant thanks to the doings of the carpet bagging high rolling television evangelists, the pedos and the faggots (but I repeat myself), as well as the angry spiteful women. When I was just a boy - they all got tossed to the curb en masse (and rightfully so) - and people threw the baby out with the bathwater. Today the church numbers have collapsed and prolapsed (again, for good reason)... but people have turned to Science, Reason and Logic to be their guiding light. Predictably, the same types of people gutted and destroyed real science just as they did with real faith. Today only the geriatrics and stupids will trust carpet baggers like Fat Al Gore, or Canada's David Zuchinni when they lobby and organize communities to protect the environMINT. Warble Gloaming is now the same shit show that the Catholic Church is. Shithead leftists used to lecture me on the sanctity and the holiness of the electric car and how they'd save Gia. Today they are burning down EV charging facilities because they're mad at the King Of Modern Scientry - the eeeeeevil Rocket Man, HAR HAR HAR!!! The sinners and saints exchange roles depending on who has the money, and who has the megaphone, and which way the herd stampedes when the alarmists start blaring. Being a reclusive stubfart that lives under a rock in Geriatric Forest... I am so far behind The Current Things that I am now probably squarely in front - and about to be run over from behind! HAR HAR HAR! HAR HAR HAR!!! So be it - my heart to the winds, my soul to its Maker. I try to tread the thin line between science and faith and do the best that I can. Einstein said "God does not play dice" and I personally think he was correct.

We also live in the Age Of The Machine. So complex, so fast, so accurate our machines have become, that we are in serious danger of letting them do our thinking for us. But the essence of that problem has always been the same. Garbage in = garbage out. I laugh at the stupids when they start hyperventilating about AI. All modern AI is - is an incredibly fast decision tree algorithm that is so complex, it can mimic human thought and speech. All 'machine learning' is - is faster, more complex pattern recognition. What looks like human  'intuition' in the machine is just mere probability calculation.

Enter the Quantum Computer! Behold:

This is an enormously simplified introduction
to a seriously mind bending issue.
The principles of operation are largely beyond my
abilities.

I shall now proceed to talk out of my own arsehole: I stand to be corrected, but beg the forebearance of my intellectual and moral superiors. But - as I understand it - quantum computers only excel like this in very limited, and very few and specific instances of certain mathematic problems. These problems were carefully selected to show the quantum computer in it's best light to people that are largely unknowledgeable of the complexities involved - in short - guys like Yours Truly. The superpower of this computer (if I understand it correctly) - is that it can execute several seriously complex calculations simultaneously.

A layman's retard's explanation
of the concepts involved

I am usually able to find my way around physics and math. I'm handy with statistics, and I pride myself on scientific objectivity. But I am seeing stuff that has me not exactly worried - but maybe concerned. There is always hyperventalilation, histrionics and ass-hattery involved with such things and getting the truth is often very difficult. But... I am seeing REAL scientists worrying about this too. Brian Cox, obviously, but other guys like Michio Kaku. (Pop Sci Inc's noisy DEI space monkey - Neil De Grasse Tyson is conspicuously silent so far. But screw him - who cares what that noggered idiot thinks, HAR HAR HAR!!!)

I've tried to do a deep dive on this but have only gotten shit house retard explanations with no actual "meat" to them. If these guys are to be believed, quantum computers are

  • exchanging data faster than the speed of light, and/or
  • making time flow in reverse, and/or
  • drawing data points from alternate time lines

From what I have heard so far, none of this is a glitch or a random fart of transient voltages on the computer bus lines - it is repeatable and its consistent.

I remember when the guys at CERN were smashing sub-atomic particles trying to create and observe a Higgs Boson. Chicken heads all over the world proclaimed that a catastrophic rip in time and space would happen or that a black hole would result and suck us all in to our horrible deaths.

In WW2 reputable and credible scientists screamed bloody murder about the Manhattan Project. An atomic bomb, they claimed - would not only consume its target - the chain reaction would continue and might conceivably destroy the entire planet.

Should I be chitting my pants in fear?  If so - I'll try not to get any on ya.

No promises though.

  1. All I wanna do is chase jackrabbits with a slingshot. I'm glad other people worry about this sort of thing.

  2. I don't want to spoil the ending for you, but we ARE ALL GOING TO DIE. Its an unfortunate inevitability that comes with birth. Transcending the attachment to the material universe, to the self-contraction that binds us and our attention to everything BUT the divine, is the ONLY WAY OUT. And NO quantum computer is going to help in that. Only TRUE spiritual practice.

  3. Encryption will be obsolete. Nothing in the digital world will be secure. That is all.

    1. Not all. Only public-key encryption is threatened here, though that *is* the lion share of encryption in use today.

  4. You can ignore this as simple noise. IBM, Google, and a host of others have been pursuing quantum computing for a very long time. All require cryogenic cooling just to “work,” and the academic papers on the subject are manipulated to yield positive results (in the hopes of capturing more funding). Like most other “science” over the last 70 years or so, it’s just a grant farm.

  5. Good article Glen! LOTS there. Will require digesting a couple times.
Anony, maybe, but it looks like the Satanic forces are, mixing physics, quantum entanglement (11 or 12 dimensional, holographic?) physics/mechanics, computers with, what we perceive of as spiritual. Looks like a miracle or Magik to most.
I agree with your point about about True spiritual practice.
As has been pointed out by everyone, "The Devil", Lucifer, Satan and that class of entity, has been described as the "Great Deceiver" and he is very ancient, very smart and very good at it. Many will not have the discernment to see, to know the truth. I may be deluding myself, but I think "I got this!", from a lowest, common denominator, point of view. I think The Way is simple, so that simple souls can get "There" too.

  6. I'm a physicist, so I'll add my 2 cents.

    1. Michio Kaku is a communist. In fact, he was a founder of a Maoist Communist party in Hawaii. I find that his rantings often have a leftist ulterior motive.
    2. If quantum computers can work, they'll make only a few types of encryption obsolete. Resistant encryption methods exist.
    3. Quantum computers in no way prove multiple universes or faster than light communication. Everett's many worlds interpretation of QM dates back to the 50s, but makes no predictions different from other quantum interpretations. It's just a different way to think about things. The superluminal transfer is an artifact of QM not being relativistic. For that, you need to go from Schroedinger's eq. to Dirac's eq.
    4. There's a lot of fraud in the Quantum computing field. They want to keep the gravy train going. If you want a realistic view, Scott Locklin has written a good overview - https://scottlocklin.wordpress.com/2019/01/15/quantum-computing-as-a-field-is-obvious-bullshit/

    1. I'm extensively familiar with them. Neither Kaku, Tyson, nor Greene are actually scientists, much less physicists. "Creditation" not withstanding. By their works they are known. Penrose, Feinman... these are what scientists look like.

  7. Where to start with emptying this cess pool?
    1. Quantum computing is analog computing. You can do the exact same thing with hydraulics for a tiny fraction of the price.
    2. Time does not run backwards. Anybody who says it does is a salesman, not a scientist.
    3. Nothing travels faster than the speed of causation, AKA the speed of light. Anybody who says it does is a salesman, not a scientist.
    4. Quantum entanglement is not immune to rules 2 and 3. "Spooky action at a distance" is hogwash of the first order.
    5. Quantum entanglement is a consequence of Newton's third law, AKA "Everything adds up to nothing". It is the amazing discovery that finding a right shoe implies the existence of a left shoe.
    6. You can simulate quantum entanglement is a standard computer by copying a value and inverting it, AKA adding a NOT gate. In analog terms, you take the value (defined as being somewhere between 0 and 1) and subtract it from one.

  8. I don't know really anything about quantum computing except for this:

    1. I studied some of the principles back at State U. That was (mumble) years ago. Smells kind of like nuclear fusion power, always a decade in the future.

    2. The chance that the Press can get the issues right is asymptotically approaching zero.

    3. The Press always wants to scare people. There's more than a whiff of that in the article.
