Improper Questions

 

I vapour locked for a second on seeing this.

Who would even think to ask such a preposterous question?

How would could I possibly even answer it?

And no sooner had I asked myself the question, than

the answer came farting and bubbling

up from my subconscious depths.

Perhaps that is where my soul is? 

I fully expected this to be my anthem as an old man.

Living alone, reminiscing about past regrets and missed opportunities.

I did much better than I expected for myself.

I do have the regrets and missed opportunities as many men my age do. But I am too free in talking about them. It only makes the wind blow harder and colder. And the wind will only stop when you die. It is enough to be able to embrace it from time to time. You can literally do nothing else.
