Choose Your Weapon

I admit I don’t know a darn thing about 9mm subguns. My opinion is worth less than what you paid for it!

😂

I’d develop a split personality here because I like them both! But…why do 9mm if ya don’t have to? Auto Ordinance are still making Tommy gun clones, and if ya know where to look and have the coin - I’m told there’s still Ingram MAC 10s kicking around…?

But if I had to pick one of the two above - I’m an HK fan so for me it’s a no-brainer….

  1. The Uzi is iconic and so freaking cool. The HK is superior.

    1. I know the Uzi is dated, but how is the HK superior? They're both bullet hoses meant to rain down lots of lead, is the HK significantly better somehow? I really don't know, just asking.

    2. Don, the HK is much more ergonomic. When I lived in San Diego, I had a Seal team friendly associate that said they preferred the HK in 9mm because you could take out sentries from 100 yds away with a suppressed unit. He said the 147 gr. JHP was developed for suppressed, match grade accuracy, not expansion.
MACs and Uzis are spray and pray guns.

    3. Thanks for the follow-up. Better ergonomics is a pretty good reason.

  3. I made the mistake of purchasing an auto ordinance manufacture firearm this century. Don't let it happen to you. Many years ago I used to hang out with a county sheriff in missouri, who trained with the full auto H&K and from what I hear it is the bee's knees.

  4. Hi-Point makes cheap carbines in .40 S&W, 10mm and .45 ACP. The Ruger LC carbine is available in 10 mm and .45 ACP. As you said "why do 9mm if ya don’t have to? "

  5. If you don't like the MP5 9mm, you can go with an MP10, chambered in .40 cal.

  6. Glen, THESE days, with premium ammo, IF the 45 has an edge, it's microscopic. Even then, the 9 wins with capacity advantage, 25-50% longer range, and reduced recoil. The big difference is in fmj ammo, then, "no bones about it", the 45 wins, hands down.

  7. Mike Massa (genuine Navy Seal from back in the day and on the cover of Soldier of Fortune with said HK) said he like the HK but the trigger group needed work. If it works for a Seal can't be too bad.
