Every day, my geriatric obsolescence rises up and kicks me square in the arse. I really know nothing. And if you’re honest - whadda YOU know? The world moves ever faster and I’ve been watching it pass me by for ten years now. How does a solid state gyro work? Or a solid state barometer? WTF is a solid state battery? How does that work? We use tech like this every day and most people think they’re savvy but they’re clueless when you delve into the nuts n’ bolts of things.
There are clocks everywhere now. Probly got one on your computer screen if you’re reading this. I got one on my phone, my watch, on the stove, on the microwave, on my bedside lamp and a bunch I probly forgot. Cameras are getting to be the same. iPad, laptop, doorbell, phone, car…

Whatever ya do nowadays, you’re probably on camera doing it. I know the libertarians get bent right out of shape about it and I get where they’re coming from. But… if these morons were trashing your property for the hell of it… wouldnt you want to be able to identify them? Without the camera I’d probably think the perps were goofy, stupid kids. But at least two of those morons are probably older than I am. And - will they ever get rounded up and charged…? Apparently these twerps went viral. They even have the license plate of that stupid bugger on the top left on camera… and he went viral again when some kid saw him the next day and started hassling him about it and recording him as he gawped and tried to deny it.
I’ll bet no one gets charged, and the insurance companies will take the hit for fixing the vandalism. I heard it called the “anarchotyrannical state”. You run a red light, or get pinched on photo-radar…? You get your ticket and fine in 72 hours. Your car gets stolen or vandalized? The cops and courts shrug and can’t help ya - sorry!!! Gah - whatever.
The question I got is this: Flapz has a late model Ford company truck. It seems to have a cameras that looks down on the truck from above … like from about 15 ft up… but… there’s no cameras up there! How is the truck generating that image from that viewpoint? Nuts and bolts matter to the inquiring mind!
😂👍
My beloved Dawgmobile is an 08 Tacoma that doesn’t hook up to your phone or the innernet. It has tilt cruise electric windows and a few other foohforaws that I didn’t want either… but ya Dan’s buy trucks nowadays without all that crap on them. I’m glad my truck doesn’t do all that crap!
Mind you… if the stupids ever decide to go after Toyotas I suppose I will be hooped.
Am I the only one who realizes People are emotionally reacting, instant gratification over-rated animals?
ReplyDeleteI have an '87 Toyota Camry, and an '07 Chevy Silvarado 3/4 Ton 4x4. Last Cars I hope to own. Not much tech in either of them.
ReplyDeletere: 15ft camera
ReplyDeletethere are usually 4 cameras:front, sides (under the mirrors) and rear (backup). combine them and add a top view of the car and there you go, looks like a drone image
No no, I have it on good authority from Musk himself, Tesla's come with a trunk drone. Once you back out of the driveway it launches and follows you around, providing instant top-down video for your viewing pleasure.
